so, im currently working in afghanistan, and the threads have become too stripped on my glv to hold an atomizer anymore, so i decided to build something that was quick, easy and cheap to make. i used 2 cr123 surface mount battery holders from digikey, some epoxy putty, a horn style switch, a 510 connector, and a bit of wire. total cost was prob, 10$ without batteries and charger (i already had these from another 6v device). the batteries are tenergy lifep04's at 3v a piece connected in series for 6v. from what i have read these are relatively safe batteries, so im not concerned about them being exposed. the battery holders hold the batteries extremely tight so they wont fall out, and they are actually kinda hard to remove by hand. the thing feels great in my hand, has some weight to it, and the epoxy is as hard as a rock. im not sure i could break this thing accidentally. this is a prototype (it looks haggard, but functions well) and i have ordered some sculpting tools and a black epoxy putty with a slower set time, so that i can shape and mold to perfection. the epoxy putty i used sets to rock hard in 5 minutes, so i had to work fast, and that is why it looks so rough. the next version will look nicer, and i will post new pics when its complete. (this design may be dangerous because of exposed batteries but i work at the war, so this is the least of my concerns)
