I have been reading these forums for 4 HOURS here at work, and I am starting to think that I best just ask some questions before I get into trouble.

For starters, I am a person who picked up some "GreenCig" branded as a "Smoker Friendly" E-cig in Northern Colorado a few days ago to replace the Eclipse cigarettes (at 1+ packs per day), and it is ok.

I really want to try something that is a little more real than this as this $100 ticket item seems more like the K-Mart special after doing some research on experiences posted in these forums by others.

The problems with this GreenCig are as follows:

1. The menthol is "ok," but gives me a bit of a "sticky throat" or "cotton mouth" feeling (if that makes any sense).
2. If you try to use one of these the cartridges the day after opening them, they usually have very little vapor production, and sometimes can be kind of gross.
3. Occasionally, if you inhale to deeply on one of these, there will be a click and a sizzle on the inside of the cartridge and it will suddenly taste like melted plastic (uber-gross ;))
4. Battery life sucks for the most part. Maybe an hour or so of sporadic, light inhalation?
5. Cartridge lasts maybe 1 day at best and only tastes good and gives you vapor worth noting for the first few puffs.

The good points:

1. I don't smoke regular cigs anymore (2 days now without one completely), but the urge is still there a little, and I didn't just switch cold turkey.
2. I can vape at work incognito by blowing the vapor under the desk and paying attention to passer-by's (don't want the attention in a government location that this could generate).

So, my main questions would be:

1. For an avid menthol smoker who would like to try a variety of flavors, is refill my only option, and if so, would this be a good start: electrojuice dot com. I am seeing some interesting reviews here stating that you can actually access the flavors unlike any other brand?

2. What about Blu or Volcano? I was going to go with Blu originally, but my impatience made me purchase from the local store.

3. What about the 510? If I were to go with the 510, what all would I need to get started? Is this what most people are talking about: www dot litecigusa dot net/product_p/joye510kit.htm ? I assume I would need liquid with that too...

4. What about time to deliver? I don't want to be left high and dry. I think I have 2 more cartridges which may last me until Monday, then I start on re-fries (again-yuck). I can always by another set, but this is running $20 every 4-5 days (4 cartridges). I thought this was supposed to be saving me money as well?

I don't want this to become a hobby of doing magical things for countless hours, and spending thousands of dollars to get this to work, I just want to vape...

I'm not coming to the arena as a cigar aficionado, or someone who would spend hours in his bedroom rolling tobacco, I am just looking for a way to replace my nasty addictive habit with one that is more palatable, and do it in a way that is enjoyable to me, and safer for my daughter.

So what I am trying to do is end hours of reading religious wars and people who are trying to turn this into a hobby by wrestling with trying to connect a smoke machine lined with 15 different liquids to a hookah, only to add some light saber action to it. I just want to cut straight to the chase for someone who was a heavy menthol cig user, and wants his fix :p

i suggest the 510 from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. ...they have a $35 no box kit, of course a bottle or 2 of juice

Thanks for the input!

Do you find that the refills are no muss for the most part? Is this particular model the best option if money is not really an issue? I see it comes with a "marlboro flavor," so I'd have to get rid of that right off the bat. Would you get the juice from the same place, or does it really matter where you get it from?

^^what mttsrt said ^^

You can't go wrong with the 510. And cignot has super fast service and stands behind their products. I WAS a menthol smoker and the flavor I really like is spearmint. The menthol juice to me isn't sweet enough but that's just me. Start with 26mg nic and you can always cut it with PG from Wal Mart if it's too strong. The good thing about a minty flavor is when you cut it you still have a minty taste ;) Good luck!

I will give that a shot. What I am looking at right now is: www dot cignot dot com/product_p/kit-510-pcc.htm (having 2 would be great, so that if one is being charged, the other is still up). I am looking at the menthol and vanilla for starter flavors as I didn't see the spearmint there?

Thanks for the recommendations. I am sure almost anything will be an improvement over what I am currently using :D

If you go 510 its alot of messing around,You could go kr808d-1 if you simply want to vape. Its a 2 piece unit with cartomizers,Vapor4life has a large selection and menthol sampler packs.

I have seen a lot of talk about the kr808 as well... Does it go by a specific name over at V4L? Is it the king?

I got my spearmint from cignot but they might be out at the moment. When you don't see something on their site that's usually what it means. Good luck! No matter which PV you choose you will be glad to kick the butts and pick up the vape :D
I know, right? I am already smelling remnants of my old habit in the car... Kind of nasty :p A few detail jobs should take care of that... hopefully...

Homeish now
The cotton mouth comes with the territory, some juices are worst then others...but pretty much when vaping you need to up your fluid intake.

Skip the blu/volcano....they are the same thing that you have pretty much. Just a different label and have the same problems.

I have a 510...and it works really well for me and I think it's a great place to start getting familiar with e-cigs. But if I had really known what I wanted I'd have skipped the 510 and gone for an eGo.

Why the eGo? Which kit? From JantyWorld?

Thats a great idea,Mega 510 batteries and 510 cartomizers.
I'm lost... The mega's come from cignot, but require Mega cartomizers? And the batteries are sold separately? I'm starting to feel like I am trying to assemble a car by purchasing parts... :D

I can feel the credit card burning a hole in anticipation of vapor!

I'm gonna have to agree with both of those sentiments. The 510 is excellent but battery life on all the "cigarette" size models is abysmal. The eGo / Tornado (had to do that as I have Tornadoes....same thing) battery on the other hand will last me about 6 or 7 hours and I vape HEAVILY, all day at my desk and it rarely leaves my face. If you have been smoking more than a pack a day, I honestly believe you can get started for not much more money with an eGo/Tornado than you could with all the extra batteries, charging case (PCC); and with a LOT less hassles.

My $0.02....whatever you decide, put a Nike on it (JUST DO IT!)

Are the 510 and kr808 parts/cartomizers interchangeable? If so, I could always go for broke and buy both on a mid to lower end and do a comparison?

Not to my knowledge they aren't.

However, there are adapters out there, I'm just not 100% if there's a 808>510 or 510>808 adapter available.

Also, the eGo and the Tornado models appear to be the same thing, just different branding names. Both getting very good feedback, and if money isn't tight, might give you the better bang for the buck overall since the batteries in those last a far sight longer, and still have the slim, almost analog like design. I get around 4-5 hours out of a 510 mega battery, the eGo and Tornadoes report 5-7 hour battery life.. definite improvement. Had they had these models when I first bought mine.. I probably would have tried it instead. Course, back then, I paid the same for my 510 for what they charge for the tornado sets. XD

Totally Wicked has tornado kits for 70-80, I haven't really looked at the ego pricing module on janty's site.
