I just ordered 6 quarts(4 VG and 2 PG) for 38 bucks with a buy5 for half price sale they had last weekend so thats @ 6.50 a quart, with shipping I paid 56 bucks USD and with the exchange I paid just under 12 bucks CAD a quart shipped and there is nowhere in Canada that can sell at that price. My last liters of VG and PG were 16 bucks each plus 20 bucks shipping. I've ordered essential depot VG and PG from Amazon before and Essential depot got top notch product and fast shipping.

i recently had an episode where my VG from Essential depot ignited right on the coil !! The temp could not have been more than 400 degrees - given the modest 10 watts I was using. Wrote to Essential Depot and nothing ever came of it.... the upshot is, we are on our own when vaping this stuff - Essential Depot or any other vendor.

That's because it's flammable. As a matter of fact all eliquid is. If you notice, when you dry burn a coil, if there's ejuice on it, it will slow burn for a moment.

If my liquid ignited at a mere 10 watt, what are the implications for those who vape at 50-100 watts? Very troubling. Pg is even more flammable....

I consider that very troubling that we are vaping flammable liquids. Pg is even more flammable.

A lot of things are flammable. Cooking oil is flammable but we still consume it. Alcohol is flammable but people still drink it. Cooking flour is flammable and so is garlic. We eat and drink things that are flammable quite often.

You are down playing the hazards and/or dismissing them - not a very rational approach. Just because we face many risks in our lives, that doesn't mean we should be adding to them - or treating them so casually. Not saying we should stop vaping - as long as we are aware what the risks are.

Huh? Dismissing them? I don't think so. I was just pointing out some facts. The only reason I stated what I stated was to show a lot of things are flammable, especially at 400 degrees.

On other side of the coin, making things sounds horrible isn't going to help either. Of course there could be risks involved with vaping. I never said there wasn't, but I'm thankful I found vaping. Smoking for 20+ years at over 2 packs a day was killing me. For me, it's way better than smoking.

How am I making things sound so horrible? Just because I said my juice ignited at 10 watts? You don't think I should be concerned? How about those who vape at 100 watts?

It's going to ignite either way if directly on a hot coil. VG contains glycerin which I knew was flammable. It rates flammable at 1, which means it needs to have direct contact with a red coil to ignite. It won't ignite through cotton, wet, touching a coil. It is water soluble, and is not harmful to humans.

Mine ignited through wet cotton. The odd part is, it happened at three different times with three different coils.

As far as Vg not being harmful when vaped, I am not sure one way or another until we learn more about long term effects of vaping - perhaps 20 years from now. As I recall, cigarette manufacturers used to insist that smoking was harmless .....

I'd say you could have had a hot spot for it to ignite. But hey, I don't know.

Yeah, who knows years from now. It could have long term effects. But right now, after 4 years of vaping, my lungs look like I never smoked. I can climb stairs now and not loose my breath. I can run again. I'm happy with my results. With smoking, my health only got worse, never better like with vaping.

We don't have long-term studies yet, but from looking at the list of toxins in cigarettes I can't see how it could even come close. There's some risk, we just don't know yet. It's up to each user to decide for him or herself.

To each his own, but I like to stay conservative side and try to limit my vaping as much as I can. A single strawberry flavor contains several hundred chemicals designed mainly for ingestion. Ingesting them is one thing, vaporizing them into the lungs is another. That is why I vape unflavored most of the time.

So, Essential Depot was right not answering you. Why should they?

Soooo....back the original post:
Essential Depot is GREAT VG. A lot of people here use it - it's trustworthy pure, and has good taste.
EJC labs? Never heard of them...may want to look around - some popular nic vendors include
Wizard labs
Nude Nicotine
My Freedom Smokes
Vapers Tek

are these brands good? that would make me happy. i dont mind the work. i ran the numbers and it breaks down to about 1.25 for 30ml of 50/50 25mg/ml unflavored base.

Curious, what were the circumstances when your coil ignited? how long did you fire the coil before it ignited? did it ignite after one firing or after multiple firings? what wire gauge and at what resistance and wattage? what wick material and was there adequate amount of it. was it primed properly? was there adequate airflow and eliquid? What flavoring and does it have alcohol as a solvent? did it ignite while you were taking a hit from it or were you watching the coil?
