Thought I would just remind all our Brits to get stocking up as there is not much time left. just ordered 5 letres of nic base myself. I'm hoping once the UK leave the EU these stupid laws will be repealed here but I'm making sure I'm well stocked up just incase they are not.

Here's some info on the regulations from the gov.uk website. E-cigarettes: regulations for consumer products - GOV.UK

I'm in the US, so we have our own problems with the FDA, but stocking up is good advice. Glad your prepared.
Thanks. What you guys in the US are going through is terrible and I hope the people in power there can be made to see sense in the end. What's happpening in the EU seems largley to be going under the radar on ECF though. With the deadline so close I thought there would be more warnings here for our European readers.

yes in 10ml bottles at 20mg nicotine strength wich will cost much more per mg and also will be pretty useless to DIY'ers.

No, this is not the case. You will still be able to buy 72mg nic base, you just cannot buy it from sources that sell vaping related gear. You can still buy it from www.nicotineuk.co.uk.

As someone that doesn't use tanks and makes my own juice, these regs don't affect me in the slightest at this stage. My worry is that in time they will just clamp down more and more.

Nicotine Base Liquid
The TPD requirements on nicotine concentration (20mg/ml maximum) and size of presentation (10ml maximum for refill container and 2ml maximum for e-cigarettes) apply to products sold to end consumers (irrespective of whether the end consumer intends to modify the product).

The requirements do not apply to ‘trade sales’ i.e. where you are selling industrial quantities to another business and the sale is not directed to a consumer. But for all sales (trade and to consumers) the tank capacity of a refillable e-cigarette must not exceed 2ml.

The application of all TPD requirements are subject to transitional provisions.

I can't speak for others but I'm paying attention even though I'm in the US. It's hard to figure out exactly what will happen in practice. I used to watch Prime Ministers questions on cable TV. When the topic was foreign policy, no problem following along but your domestic politics are incomprehensible. I've read that nicotine concentrate might remain available as long as you're buying half liter amounts?

I decided I was a single issue voter last November. Trump was the only option. I wonder how many votes Trump got because of the Ecig issue. I've also wondered how vaping affected the Brexit vote. There are millions of us.

P.S. I loved watching Betty Bothroyd.

Yeah on some UK site they are only selling 72mg base in 500ml minimum now. Think this is in an attemt to get into the bulk for trade category but after may 20th i can't see them being able to get away with this for long.

You are reading a document about things under the tpd umbrella. You can buy nic base outside of this umbrella, legally here in the U.K. Nicotine uk is an example. Will this eventually change? Who knows, but there is no need to panic just yet.

Can you elaborate on which companys would be able to sell nic base to the end consumer in bottles above 10ml and above 20mg strength after may 20th?

As I have said before, nicotineuk.co.uk will be selling exactly that. The store is a sister company to the alchemist cupboard and was created so 72mg base could be sold after the 20th.

Have the stated they will still be able to sell to the end consumer after may 20th? If so have they explained how they have been able to do so when so many others can't? Please post links to this if you can. If they can maybe others can follow suit but forgive me for being sceptical. Also the price they charge is very high I can buy 4X the ammount of base for the price they ask.

Thanks Ben. Thats's interesting would seem all is not quite lost right now. Would like to know under what licence they are able to still sell nicotine base though. I'm guessing as a pesticide maybe? I still feel this is a loophole that will be close before long but I'm glad there are still companies looking to use them.
If they wasn't so expensive I would consider using them myself but i'm happy with my 5l for £145.99 :).

2 1/2 yeas ago there were no vapers where I work. Now the vapers are closing in on equaling the number of smokers. They all know what could be coming and seem indifferent. I'm the only one mixing and the only one wiith more than a couple of mods and atomizers. I don't talk about it any more because nobody wants to hear it. The situation in the UK is interesting to watch. What happens when the typical vaper there finds the products he relies on aren't available or much less convenient and expensive to buy? We'll be seeing that sooner than in the US. The new FDA boss used to sit on the board of a vaping company so he knows our side of the story. Hope springs eternal but I just swung open the freezer door and counted the bottles--all present and accounted for.
