Even after a battery cleaning, really difficult to drag

OK, enough of that.

So I have this battery that's about a month old, and I've noticed it getting very difficult to drag from. I'm using new carts. I wrote THE MAN MR. STEVE and he pointed me to a fantastically fantastic battery cleaning video. I cleaned it, and it pulls a bit better, but only for 1 cart or so.

I really feel like the issue is related to the clogged pinholes on the sides/end of the threaded battery piece, but I'm not sure. I rubbed alcohol all around it, used a pin to dig around in those holes to make sure they were cleaned (or I thought I did), and let 'er dry. However, I'm still having issues with difficult pulls.

I don't own a magnifying glass. Do I really need to buy one for monthly V4L surgery? I'm wearing my jaw out peoples, and the cart gets all HOT before I get a good puff in.

The only other thing I'll say is I just got a 2nd battery. It isn't as old as the first, so I can't really compare them. All I know is once the new one got here, I could not BELIEVE the difference!! We all want that chiseled jawline, but this isn't the way I intend to go about it.

Any thoughts?

I guess I have just been lucky, I haven't had a battery go bad on me yet *knocks wood* I try to rotate them so they all get used, but keep coming back to the extra longs lol. Hopefully someone who has had this issue will be able to help...

I'm the one in the video. And my old eyes aren't what they used to be so a magnifying glass was a must have. It does seem like you have hit upon the problem. And I bet if you got a magnifying glass you would see there is still gunk in those tiny holes.

You can by one for less than $10 at Walmart in the pharmacy area where they keep reading glasses.

What do you do to get that gunk out? Do you just keep rubbing over the top with a qtip and keep gauging with the needle? It's hard to tell where the hole ends. It's like it dead-ends into that cylinder that rises up side the threaded circle.

can you actually dip the VERY end of the battery into a cap of alcohol (not far of course) to make sure alcohol gets down in these holes? I don't want to fry the battery of course.

Is there ANY air that comes from somewhere other than those holes - down near the LED perhaps?

Does anyone have a recommendation on the best tool to use to clean those little holes? I have tried using a pin with a piece of papertowel that has alcohol on it but just don't feel I am getting them clean enough

I use a dental pick, found at most any pharmacy.

That's where that magnifying glass comes in handy. You'll be able to see exactly where that crud is. But yes, the first tie I cleaned mine I had to do it for a while. Now I clean them more often so it doesn't take as long because there isn't as much build up.

I use a sewing needle. It works but you have to be careful or you'll stick yourself. I guess I need to look for something safer.

If your eyes are anything like my old eyes don't get a 2x glass. I had to go with 5x to see wth I was doing.
