I've been buying from one vendor for almost all my DIY stuff since I started just 2.5 months ago. No problems. Yesterday I get a 20% off on nic from another vendor. I do some research and find two other vendors at the same price as the coupon guy. About $8 less than my supplier. I email them and say I've been buying from you and will you guys match prices.
"We think our product speaks for itself and our prices are as low as we can make them. Please watch for coupons."
I can see that if they matched others prices I could come here and say that they did. They would be stuck matching every deal that comes along. Their service and products are great, no problem. Do they make me feel like my business is valued? Not really.
They weren't incredibly rude but every customer is important. Maybe I just wanted to hear, You're a good customer and we appreciate your business and sorry we don't price match. We will be running a coupon code in the next 30 days if that helps.
This may not be worth posting but to me I will switch suppliers. Not because of the price match but because I want to feel these $$$ are going to a company that recognizes that maybe it's not that much money to them but it is to me. It's not what you say but how you say it. Plus, we're the best! doesn't fly with me.
