Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seems to vape the way you want it to? That was yesterday. Just couldn't seem to get it right. 510, 901, 801, VK, E9....nothing. Everything tasted flat and the throat hit just wasn't right. Couldn't get good vapor like usual either. I tried cleaning, blowing, sucking, filling, flicking, VG, PG, new atty's, direct inhale... but nothing! That's why I liked the analog...it always worked. (I had a few BTW...oh well)

angelique...how do you like the J118? I've been curious about that one...

I love the J118, it is by far my favorite. Best vapor, best flavor, easy to fill big carts, good draw, feels right in my hand, perfect size, because I smoke 120s, etc... I even made a custom case for the J118 that rocks! Blue foam cart filling makes it close to perfect. I discribe it as a cross between the 510 and 901 with the best features of each.

BUT.....

The batteries need replaced every 2-3 weeks. They just up and die on me. (atties last forever, though) And nobody sells the bloody things anymore!! LiteCig's VX2 is always out of stock, Modern Vapor has changed to a different 902, and iVape.com has decided not to carry them because of the battery issue  If anybody knows someplace to buy them in bulk for cheap, please let me know.

I have a custom made nicostick that uses a J118 atty. It is great, it really is. All the good experience of a J118 atty with a battery that lasts. I just don't like the feel of a box mod. I want a PV to give me the same tactile experience I get from an analog. <sigh> I do use it occasionally when I need a power-vape.

Because of this, I have given up on the J118. It will always have a place in my heart as my first PV love, but because of circumstances, I cannot go back to it. (great, now I'm depressed! LOL)

(You didn't ask, but the RN4072 is good, but it is too big and makes a lot of noise on inhale - not the thing for relaxing quietly with a good book at night.)

So for me now, it is the Blu or Volcano L88b. Not a lot of vapor, but about the same as an analog, and good flavor. I wear one on a necklace for a stealth vape anywhere, and I use it with a passthrough at my desk.

what's the Volcano like. Is is the super cig like the RN4081 or NPRO? Pretty nice looking

It is the exact same thing as the Blu model L88b. All pieces are interchangable. Right now I am using a Volcan passthrough with a blu atty and a volcano chocolate cart. The only difference is packaging, LED color (Volcano's are red) and shipping time - three days as opposed to weeks.

Amen.

I'm beginning to think it's my taste buds going into some kind of propylene glycol-induced funk.
This!!

Some days everything tastes really 'off' vape-wise. It seem to be my tongue gets a taste on it then won't release it, I liken it to painting over old paint on a wall over n over until its so thick bits fall off (lol bits of my tongue don't fall off btw, its just an analogy).
That then affects things I'm drinking, although not usually eating oddly enough. Idk what it is that does it, but its annoying

I have had many days like that myself, nothing would taste right. I tried cleaning the atties, changing juice, eating and drinking different food, but it didn't help. I think my taste buds were just going through a transformational stage from all of the years of smoking...I haven't had this problem for about a month, now. The only thing I have changed is that I direct drip on my atty, so I don't know if that helped the situation or not.
