I had a plugged up nose about a week ago and used nasal spray - the rest of the day I couldn't taste a thing. I thought it would last for ever but the next day I could taste the juice again - so I stay away from nasal spray now!!!

I just wonder. I lost my sense of smell when I was 3 due to scarlett fever. I even had a operation when I was 22 to see if it could be restored but they said the high fever could have done something to my olfactory nerves. I know that can affect sense of taste and since I do not know any difference I just wonder what I am missing on taste.
Im forty now and this is the first time I really wish I had a sense of smell! Especially when my hubby keeps talking about how good it smells when I vape!
I drink a lot of beer and have a few small drinks of Gin at night. I notice EVERYTHING tastes 50% better when drinking. Day and night difference. I was talking to a friend about this yesterday and he said 'go get some some Listerine', which has alcohol in it. So today I'm going to get some as a test. Will report back.
So I bought some generic Listerine. It does help wake up the taste buds BUT, it makes your mouth taste like Listerine! Going to buy some of the blue flavor and try that.
