Everclear ban in state of MD

I always use everclear to clean my atomizers, had this bottle for over a year, now I can't buy anymore. Does 100 proof vodka work just as well? What about gin, there is a 114 proof gin. Darn wish I had paid better attention, could have got some everclear last week before sales ended.

I use the cheapest, biggest bottle of white vodka I can find, and I find it's very effective. I wouldn't dare drink the stuff though...lol

All clear alcohol should work. Many use vodka instead of everclear.

Because of the ban Everclear now makes a 151 variety that is allowed to be sold in Maryland.

Vodka works. I wouldn't try gin. Gin has more spices, it would probably work, but then again, I have policy to not waste Gin, or Whiskey.

You could salt-out, distill or use the freeze method to make stronger vodka but the cheapest stuff you can find will work just fine for our purposes. Any drinkable alcohol without added flavor and sugars works good.

I think that's the only reason behind the bans of Everclear. Revenue. Why sell only one bottle of Everclear when you can sell two bottles of vodka?

Yup. I'm another vaper that uses cheap vodka because my state won't allow Everclear sales.

Yea, something our genius state government can't seem to understand. They loose thousands a day in taxes to our side sources. I for one purchase as much as possible outside Md. Why support a state that does not support their own people.(Oh wait -what state does?)

There's a few states out west that support their own, but none on this side of the Mississippi.

Come to think about it, I feel that same way about Mexican restaurants...there's no good ones on this side of the river.

The only state that borders MD and sells 191 is Delaware.

crxess, we are completely unrepresented now in Western Maryland since they redistricted and pulled a big chunk of Montgomery County into our district. I have no problem purchasing in PA and WV so Maryland doesn't get my tax money.

Looked into making my own but the licensing [read: tax] and paperwork is even more ridiculous.

Reminds me I need run down to SC to get some and fill up on gasoline at a far lower tax rate

i was wondering why in this day and age they would be banning everclear. its always been illegal in minnesota. everyone has forgotten why. it comes up once in a while so the dems and reps have something they can agree on together to keep banned.makes it seem like they are working together.

Hey, I used to live in UT. You think the other states have it bad, try living in a state where you can only get low % beer, and only 1oz of booze in a mixed drink, that was mixed behind the Zion Curtain.

Not being able to get Everclear seems trivial once you live like that. LOL

If you are lucky enough, find a friend that is in, or retired from the military. Military Class VI's and Shopettes carry both version of Everclear, regardless of state restrictions.

Same ban is here in CA, luckily wifey is retired, and works at AAFES, and does the alcy-hol purchasing for all the shops on post.
