Evercool Variable Voltage the best or?

So is the evercool by bigblue http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/114901-evercool-variable-voltage-mod.html the best variable voltage device circuit out there or anyone come up with a new and better circuit/parts? If not, please post whats better.

Better is subjective to what your looking for, the Okr or TI regulator that the Evercools use is a great inexpensive chip but if it's features you're looking for check out the dna 20D, several pvs are out with it and I'm sure more to come.

Yeah thats a very good chip, but pricey too. Even more pricey than the dna20.

Okr vs TI chip guys, whats better?

Both the Okr and TI chips have been used in the "Evercool" mods and they are the same. The Okr doesn't require caps, is usually slightly cheaper and very slightly smaller so I prefer it but they both spec, wire and work the same. You can get more info on builds with both in the modding section.

So yeah, Evercool Variable Voltage circuit is the best cost/performance ratio based. Dna20d and Nivel are great but just too pricey for me. I think ill go with the TI chips for a lil more amp limit. I just need the rest of the parts list and ill start with my project soon. thank you for the replies guys.

Thanks doug, i was planning to make at least 5 mods. 2 for me and for my friends so ill just order them. Is OKR-10 better than PTR08100W? Also, what are the best other parts that i should buy aside from the chips?

You'll need some resistors. I forget what values, and I just crawled into bed. Maybe someone can get those before I get to "The Vapor Chamber" aka the bonus room tomorrow. There was a schematic around here somewhere.

As far as if it's "better" than the PTR, I cannot say. I've never fooled with the PTR. I must say it's a darn shame, too, as my oldest step-son is a design EE @ TI lol.

Lol Doug! That would be very awesome, should be very easy for you to get anything you want from TI. I might ask for your assistance soon so i can purchase hassle free haha. Yeah, still not decided what value on other parts i should get so i cant start my project yet. Still reading, asking here and there for it.
