Wherever you go, you will find so many options on how many cigarettes there are in one e-cig. Where is the truth? How do they really calculate that, who to believe?

Why it is so important to you?

Did you ever count how many cigs you smoke?

Your body will tell you when it's enough.

I used to smoke 10-15 cigarettes a day. Now I smoke 5 a day, but I do not understand how much I smoke with electronic cigarette. With e-cig after 5 inhales I cant take any more and I take a break. But I drag quite often.

Usually my cartomizer is empty after half a day, does it mean that I smoke in equivalent to one traditional pack of cigarettes in half a day? Where can I find recommendations on using e-cig and counting out true amount?

A cartomizer tends to last about the same amount of time as about 5 cigarettes. It depends on how fresh or stale the carto is and the voltage of the battery being used.

But, there really is no direct comparison. vaping IS NOT SMOKING.

e-liquid consumption is different for every user. There are so many variables, it is impossible to calculate. I vape around 3ml of 12mg juice on weekdays and 5 ml of 12mg juice on the weekend. There really are no hard and fast rules for use. Every vaper and their individual tolerances are different.

The strength of liquid, ohms of the device topping your battery and the voltage being used to vape will all play into the amount of e-liquid consumption.

everyone is different but we can all use the same mathematical formula. example - I smoked 40 cigarettes a day and now I vape 4 ml a day. 1ml = 10 cigarettes. you can argue "I do this now or I don't do that now" but in the end 1ml = 10 cigs for that particular person.
I dont think you can make such a cut and dry formula. It depends on your setup, the nic content, the rate at which the juice is vaporized, the rate of absorption of the nic from vapor vs. tobacco smoke etc...I thought this too, but I used to smoke 5-10 cigs a day max, and I vape 2ml of juice a day. Does that mean I get double the amount of nic in my body as I did smoking? No, it just means that in my particular case, it takes 2ml of juice to satisfy my nic cravings for whatever reason.

It's not that simple.

Comparing how many ml to how many cigs is even less accurate than comparing how many cartos to how many cigs! Some juice delivery systems just suck down the juice like crazy. Some make it last. And, that's before you even take into account mg/ml and voltage.

On top of that people don't often vape the same as they smoked. Light smokers often end up being heavy vapers, and vice versa. We don't vape the same way we smoked, especially over time as we become vapers instead of smokers.

For example, I smoked about 40 cigarettes per day. But, I only vape about 2 ml per day. So, for me 1ml = 20 cigarettes. But, that's when I'm dripping on a SR 306 or 510-t. It's different in a Vivi Nova. It's different in a carto-tank. It also depends on the nic level, the flavor, PG/Vg ratio, and on and on and on.

It's just not that simple. Vaping is more complex than smoking.

I prefer to equate number of puffs. I didn't smoke 3 pad because I needed that much nicotine. I smoked 3 pad because I was addicted to the act of smoking. I was a chain smoker. Now I vape most of the day, 3-4 mil at 9mg. I have no idea if I get the same, more, or less nicotine, but I replace the act.

So if I look at this as number of puffs (not nicotine equivalence), 3 mil equals about 3 packs...or 1 mil per pack.
