I have tried that. I've tried keeping it on 113 Fahrenheit which is 45 Celcius.

After a quit reboot, the system forces it back to 45 Fahrenheit, not Celcius which makes it extremely weird.

But if I switch it BACK to Celcius, it'll stay at 45 Celcius and it will save whatever temperature I set the alarm to.

It seems to have an issue with Fahrenheits...

Is this a control head issue? Firmware issue? Defective?

China uses the metric system as most of the world :) I have never bothered with the alarm settings it is a non-issue for me

All is good with 1.4 but.... if you are like me and put your evic on sleep mode often. Its a hassle. You have to keep it on Celsius and set the temp alarm on Celsius if you dont want it ti reset to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Also it goes into ohm checker mode for a couple seconds right after waking it.
Also it adds puff alarm limit and time alarm limit to the list of items when you hold the scroll left function. Kind of annoying to me but its all preference.
On the positive side you can invert the colors of the screen as well as fully customize the home screen.
Thats about the just of 1.4... I think I was just so used to 1.3 that the changes are gonna take some getting used to. I still havent got a responce from joyetech on this so I guess ill stop holding my breath. Lol
Hope this helps
