Evic Easy Head = Bunk

So a few weeks ago I posted that I'd just bought my first real set up- an evic easy head with the battery tube and the ECA. The ECA comes from joyetech with a 2.5 ohm atomizer head and it was like everything was perfect. Well obviously, the head eventually burnt out and I just had to order some replacements.

Following everything I've read, and a chart I found showing the recommended resistance for atomizers paired with the 3.3v constant output ADVERTISED with the Easy Head, I ordered 1.7 ohm replacement heads. I was totally pumped, thinking dude my battery life is going to be sweet running at a constant 3.3v and now according to what I've read, I'll get an even better vape. So they got here, I replaced the head and filled 'er up, and went to work and woowwwwww major burnt taste! Every once in a while, I could really tap on the atomizer and suck at it without pressing the button and then I'll get maybe 2 decent 3 or 4 second hits, then it goes right back to crap. Like the harshest, hottest, just most horrid feeling I've ever felt on the back of my throat.

So this got me thinking- I remembered a week or two ago reading another post where a guy complained that he was having some issues with his Easy Head. Said it worked, but when charging, the light would just go from red to dim red instead of green like joyetech advertised. Then he checked it and no matter which mode he was in; regulated 3.3 or unregulated, he was always getting unregulated according to battery output. So I checked mine today and sure enough, in both modes, it was putting out 4.0 volts on my new $20.00 pack of atomizers which are now, I would imagine unless it's something else causing it, basically worthless.

I also ordered a new Kanger EVOD and it came with a 1.7 ohm head... I'm getting a little better out of it, but using the same juice as before, the flavor still is nowhere close to as full tasting as before. Luckily I ordered a pack of 2.2 ohm heads for it (I had a feeling I'd better be on the safe side and order some of higher resistance just in case since I knew the 2.5's did at least work)

So just an alert to any guys looking to buy one of these- I think his post was a month or two ago, and I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and the problem's not fixed. Just be aware- these things are not as advertised.

I have also the easy head at home and i am still using it occasionally, but there are really some problems with it :( . I get high voltage on both modes, micro usb port has moved from slot so it isnt usefull anymore... I got my money back from the shop i ordered it, because joyetech has send the replacement unit. Too bad, because its a small "VV" nice looking module.

I've noticed that about the Easy Head too...my usb port moved the first time I plugged charging cable in it just to see how well it charged. The light never turns off either it just goes from bright red to a dim red. You guys have given me something to think about. I have a tank with a 2.5 Ohm coil on it so I never thought of testing the different output modes with a multimeter. I just thought the constant voltage mode gave a weaker hit and it worked like it was supposed to. Something for me to check later. Thank's for the heads up.

And as I end all my posts...Happy Vaping :toast:

Ha its very true I have just checked mine and on both its showing 4.2 V and even the charging light never turned to green and the 1st one usb port got loose and had a new one and its just the same.
But I will never use it for charging will use external charger... hope the new one will last before it blink 3 times blue like the 1st one :glare:
