I just got one of these in the vape mail the other day. I loaded it up with some of my ADV Cola to give it a proper initiation. Not bad at all. It's quiet with a fairly smooth hit and good amount of vapor. I do wonder how easy it will be to clean the atty in it and how long that atty will last (replacement attys are $5).

Actually it is really easy to clean and maintain, the end of the tanks pop off simular to the ego c tanks, and I agree with your assesment of it as well. for me it just keeps giving me a burnt taste after a while. I have still been using one that has been working well with ec blend apple tobacco blend, which is a 50/50 mix, the one I was getting the burnt taste was also ec blend Cuban gold 50/50, so I don't think it was the juice. If you haven't done so yet, the atomizer is inside the the cap, on the bottom of the tube (the part you unscrew with a coin) just unscrew it and there is the head. I have only been cleaning mine with alcohol.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing with an alcohol bath. I did have a 510T atty (very similar) and just couldn't quite shake the burning taste. I might invest in an ultrasonic cleaner for steeping juices and cleaning this atty.

I have been thinking about the ultra sonic cleaner as well, for cleaning, I think that is the way recommended by joye tech. I am still kind of a newb to this, I have been reading about the steeping & diy stuff, I am not sure I am ready for that yet.

So has anyone else got these yet and have any more feedback? My brother is looking to get into vaping and I set him up with an eGo and a DCT. He wants something that is leak proof. I was trying to get him into RBA's, but it is to complicated for him and as anyone who uses them knows if you leave them laying down, they will leak. I think this would be good for him and I have an eVic I could sell him.

I gave up on my pretty quickly. The draw was SUPER tight, and if you DIDN'T give it a hard pull, you got the burnt hit. I took the whole thing apart to clean it and attempt to better understand it, but I'm a a loss. It's basically a HUGE housing for a TINY little atomizer that simply cannot get enough air to be of any use. It's a big Fail, unless I'm missing something obvious.

But it sure as heck SEEMS like these were designed to be newbie-friendly soooo.....I dunno.

Yeah pretty much. If you try to take a smooth draw, there isn't enough liquid getting pulled into the atomizer. Hence the burnination!
I saw a comment from someone yesterday, talking about the pro-tank, and he liked the draw, (like me) he said everything else he had tried, was like trying to suck a golf ball, threw a garden hose, that for me is how tight the draw is on this thing.

I have the long version which replaces the removable cap on the eVic. Came with three "Atomizers", free. Bought it in a fever of "New Vaper Credit Card" syndrome. Arrived and well...

Have to say, I'm not enthused either.

How it went down:
Cleaned it out in boiling water, set it up and discovered that I like an overtone of burning polymers in my coffee flavored vape slightly more than the delicious taste of scorched cartomizer filler. But "OMG what a Throat Hit! I think it stripped the lining out of my neck! Where's my fillerless carto tank?" If you're a TH fan...
I then dripped the atty hoping for a milder "Urban Arsonist" flavor and gave it a full tank, alternating between my iTaste VV v3 with a iClear16 and the eVic ECA, both filled with supposedly delicious coffee ejuice. After a few draws the flavor of hate was replaced with a tasteless plume of mild dissapointment. I played around with the voltage on the eVic trying to match the awesomeness of the iTaste, but the eVic/ECA never went beyond "mmm, some vapor! And do I detect a hint of coffee in there?" for me. At least it didn't taste like a burned down coffee shop.

I also exercised my face muscles with effort to draw on the non-replaceable tip. While I like a tight draw as much as the next guy, getting a forced oral workout for my vape ... sucks.

By the time I got through the tank, I was ready to put it in the "Do not use - give to people I really dislike" box.

Cons:
My setup tasted like annoyance, after the "angry fire monster eating a puppy" flavor went away.

Loosens eyeballs from sockets trying to pull any air through the leakproof design. If you're eyes are really tight, this may be a pro instead.

Plastic tank... might be tank cracking and plastic or glue leeching issues in anything other than glass, and even some o rings are sketch.
Luckily, you get no o-rings with this product. I've discovered I really like the idea of a conventional o-ring over this innovative and highly engineered design.

Non removable drip tip means you're stuck with this tiny plastic nippletip. I want a different shape, maybe more draw? No, thats fine. Please make my eVic look like some kind of frosting dispensing nozzle device. And next time, please include buttercream frosting ejuice. At least I can imagine that what I'm vaping tastes like a delicious bakery treats and it won't use up any of my yummy ejuices.

Pros:
No leaks! All day, the ECA tank rattled around in my pocket and didn't lose a single drop! Even if I couldn't bring myself to vape it.

Looks awesome! (I have the long version which covers up the unsightly threads, making an eVic Hybrid and yeah, it's sleekly attractive to pastry professionals)

And it's got replaceable atomizers! They're easy to remove and replace, so when you find you've burned it out due to lack of wicking in a desperate attempt to taste a flavor other than "Volcano" from your vape, you can drop another one right in it's place.

I'd say to avoid this product. But if someone who dislikes you gave you one and you're handy with power tools, a desperate sacrifice to the Vapor Gods in hopes of modding yourself a divine miracle of function and flavor might make the ECA worthwhile. And hey, you can totally have mine...

Thanks for the detailed and comical review lol. I would take you up on that offer, but I think I am going to hold off on getting one of these. I've heard really good things about the protank. I don't have money to buy anything else right now. I just bought 2 EVOD's, 4 650mah ego's, a 1100mah ego-v, and 2 small DCT's. So I think I will set my brother up with one of the EVOD's and see what he thinks. He is liking the 1100mah ego-v and DCT he has already.

I have not tried it yet, but I want to try the pro-tank 2, if I could get my hands on the evic flat top, I think the pro-tank 2 would look very good on top. It comes apart, uses the same coils, addresses the leaks around the pyrex conections, has removable drip tip, and holds more juice. :)

There's already a clone of the ProTank2. It's the DBox Puritank. I've got one. No real complaints, aside from the trashy coils/heads that it came with. Just pop a ProTank or Evod head in there and you're set. A little bigger than the original ProTank, Pyrex body, removable drip tip.
Seems nice and solid too. Draw is just a *little* bit tight but nothing that even begins to bother me.

I just read someone else talking about that, I didn't know what it was.

I've got one. It's my only BCC I have, so I can't really compare to the ProTank. I do like it better than my dead iClear16 (clove killed em, rest in peace). Cooler vape than my Smoktech Vivi Nova Pyrex clone. I like em about equally, and much less than the filler free atomizer carto tanks I'm currently using. GotVapes Phoenix Raven fillerless carto, probably similar to the Smoktech Nickel mesh cartos, and both superior to a regular cartomizer in a tank, in my humble opinion.

If you like clearomizers and have a APV 19 mm to 22 mm diameter mod, the Puritank will be a good fit. If you're vaping something smaller, well, I'd try a mini ProTank or other small diameter BCC first.

I forgot to mention how gigantic the Puritank is compared to my other delivery devices. It's freeking huge! It doesn't fit in an IBTanked thingie, which is a small screwtop clear plastic film canister sized container that keeps juice from going absolutely everywhere. So I'm using a flip top container from Hammergel. Works great.

When at home, I just use shot glasses to hold my tanks, if not in use, I use them also, to help in refilling them. For rebuildables, I do the same thing. If I want to carry a tank full, but not on a battery, I found that my pro-tanks, fit in a plastic tube, made for cutting torch tips, like a Victor 0-1-101, they fit perfect.

I know we're OT now, but I use old medicine bottles (de-labeled and thoroughly boiled) to keep my tanks and rebuildables in.
