got a evic a week ago and updated it to 1.3. still confused on what the VV, VW, RVV, RVW1, RVW2, and RVW3 settings are.
Here is a rundown on the different settings on your eVic under the new v1.3 firmware.
VV
This is the Variable Voltage setting, where you can change the the voltage using the ring on the eVic.
VW
This is the Variable Wattage setting, where you can change the the voltage using the ring on the eVic.
RVV
This is for the programmed setting you can do using the MVR software. You can program a custom "vape curve" using Variable Voltage levels, that actually changes over the length of draw. In v1.3, you get ONE of these programmable VV settings.
RVW1, RVW2, and RVW3
These are also for the programmed settings you can do using the MVR software. You can program a custom "vape curve" using Variable Wattage levels, that actually changes over the length of draw. In v1.3, you get THREE of these programmable VW settings.
The advantage to having three VW settings is that different juices taste better at different power settings, so you can dial in your program to your favorite juices. Also, different devices (cartos, attys, RBAs, etc) perform better at different settings, so you can make custom vape-curve settings tailored to your favorite atty or tank or whatever.
Hopefully this will help you sort it out.
I almost never use VV on my eVic--I'm a VW kinda guy.
So here is a screen shot of my favorite RVW setting--I don't think there is any way to upload the file for the evic settings to this forum.
But if you PM me an email, I can send you the file, so you can import it to your eVic, insted of having to type it all in manually...

This setting starts at 5.7w, slowly ramps up to 7.7w and then tapers back down to 7.1w, where it stays as long as I'm taking a draw...

I'm interested to know about this slow start. What are the advantages you find? I ask, of course, because I do the opposite.

| Different flavors of E-Juice burn better at different temperatures, so Joyetech gives you the ability to change the voltage and wattage output in order to achieve the perfect vapor for your favorite E-Juices. Details are as follows: VV Mode: VV comes from Variable Voltage, it is to say different vapors are available as the output voltage increasing or decreasing. The higher the voltage is, the larger the output current is, so the heavier the vapor that an atomizer will produce. VW Mode: VW comes from Variable Wattage, it is to say different vapors are available as the output wattage increasing or decreasing. The larger the wattage is, the heavier the vapor will be. Besides, the battery will regulate automatically when the atomizer resistance changes so as to remain the same output wattage.
