Maybe that will work. The permissions for "everyone" are set for read only. @phamito, it would not communicate with the evic at all, so upgrade to 1.2 was impossible (even with code.bin on the desktop).

I will post in this thread if the permissions trick works.
What model mac/OS are you using? I'm wondering if the USB port isn't putting out enough power. Is the evic charging ok on that port?

It's an early Macbook Pro (replacable battery) running Snow Leapord. I used Bootcamp to boot into XP, and performed the update from the same USB port. All show charging when in OSX. If it isn't the permissions setting, I am at a loss......

Wow, didn't know you could install XP on a Macbook. Gotta try that now.

Here's a clue. Nothing mounts when the eVic is plugged into the OSX side, and Disk Utility doesn't see it. The only time I ever had this problem before was when an external hard drive wouldn't mount because the power supply was going bad.

Shouldn't a disk icon show up when I plug the eVic into the computer? I think it isn't mounting and therefore cannot be seen by the OS.

Thoughts?

Still waiting for mine, but I suspect it isn't a disk. In "System Information" (Apple-menu -> About this Mac -> More Info -> System Report) you can check the USB page to see if it is being recognized by the OS. If not, then there is no chance the software will see it. (If so, there are still lots of reasons it might not work, but that eliminates one problem..)

It shouldn't mount because it's not a disk. Haven't gotten a chance to play with it yet but will ASAP. Sorry for the delay.
