eVic + Protank 3 compatibility

Hi all,

Been off ciggarette for almost 3 months now which I am happy with and you could probably say that I am still new to this vaping sensation that is rapidly going around.

I got an eVic and Protank 3 that I am running with single coil evod 2.0 ohms. Previously I had used Unitank and it just blew after a couple of months of usage as in it started leaking and flooding the battery, I had tried changing to a new atomizer and the problem still occured.

Recently I was interested in trying out the dual coil system that Protank 3 are offering, but my eVic keeps telling me "atomizer short". After a couple of days trying to find out why the message kept popping up on my eVic, it came to me, please correct me if I'm wrong here, that the dual coil system are not suitable with eVic, as eVic will only allow 1.2 or higher ohms to run. Apparently dual coil halves the amount of ohms that it states when using eVic.

I really want to try this dual coil system but since eVic won't allow me to, could you guys recommend me with something that are similar to eVic that would allow me to fire up the dual coil system? or possibly different dual coil tanks that will allow my eVic to succesfully vape?

While I'm at it, also any recommendation for good single coil tanks to run on my eVic?

I am using my eVic with dual coils without any problem. I haven't tried the PT3 yet.

hmm, well I have fiddled with the atomizer, as in maybe I put it on to tight to the base or maybe too lose, but it still doesnt work.

Could it be the atomizer that is the problem? because when I insert a single coil on the PT3, it works perfectly but whenever i put the dual coil atomizer, the message "Atomizer short" kept popping up.

Or is it possible that my eVic had been flooded too many times due to the busted Unitank that it had affected my eVic?

I wiped everything clean though everytime it flooded.

yes, can be, I had once PT atomizer which was brand new and already shortcutting

if other atomizers still work on evic - only bad PT issue, not much of evic itself.

I forgot to answer the second part of your question.
Single coils I am using with my eVic
Kanger Unitank
Hyper Tank
Smoke DCT Pyrex cargo with both single and dual coils

I really like these 3 tanks. No issues with any unless I do something wrong. I keep 3 Unitanks and 3 Hyper Tanks and 2 Cartos ready at all times. All with different juices. Typically use 70/30 PG/VG with 18 to 24% nicotine. I don't remove any of the wicks from the BCC tanks. No leaks and no gurgles.

Have you pulled the head out of the PT to see if you see a reason that the coil may be shorting? It's not heard of to receive a bad head.

OP most likely your coil is bad or the center post is not touching the evic properly. i have a pt3 and works fine. try pulling the post ABIT so it makes contact. And clean your evic with a abit of alcohol of a qtip

FWIW

I tried the SmokTank XL cargo on my eVic, the locking ring on the bottom of the tank prevents the center pin from making contact. I pulled the center as far as it would go, no joy.
