Hi

Have an eVIc for less than a week now, updated to the latest firmware.

One thing I've noticed is when the battery is around the 50% or lower mark and I turn it on, it seems to start up, but on trying to fire the darn thing, it just shutdowns. If I repeat the process it does the same. Initially taking the battery out again and back in seemed to work, but not anymore, seems if I leave it alone for a while, it is happy to work again later.

Evic won't work - YouTube

Created a short video on my iphone showing this.

I have contacted the place I bought it from but wondering if it's safe to use my other batteries in the eVic while I wait for a response.

Would using AW IMR 18650 2000mAh be a problem for the device or little old me using it ? Any ideas.

Yeah I know I could simply get a mechanical mod, infact I'm using a GGTS when this thing isn't working.

Can you get into the menu?
If so try resetting your puff counter.
And set set puff number to 000

Thanks, will try that next time it happens, left it for an hour without the battery and it's happy to work now. I can get into the menu prior to power on, could try it then. The puff counter is still low at 347 but will try anything really at the mo.

thanks

Yeah I'm using the latest firmware. And resetting puffy thing is funny.

Think it's the battery so will replace, got a new evic stainless delivery highendsmoke delivered an additional after a shipping mix up. Just waiting on them to tell me I can use that battery in mine.

Also noticed today the battery went from 80% to 0% then back up again. So likely the battery.

Thanks

Ver 1.2 is out, just update, and things should be fixed (let's hope)

Thanks KraksX, updated to v1.2, so far so good. I seem to have to reinstall MVR each time I want to connect the device mind you, but I don't intend to connect it other than do these updates.

Fussy little thing this device. The new features look good though. Being able to vary the power with each second. Nice to finally get rid of the puff counter on the overview screen too. And no more auto shutoffs, got that set to never.

Thanks again

Yeah it has improved, back to using the supplied battery now. It did happen once since, but the battery was at 36% remaining and probably due for a charge, although I tested it and came in with 3.6v, had expected it not to start playing up at that. But very happy with it.

Bought an iTaste MVP think that might be a bit better for the holiday.

While it isn't really related to the issue that it seems you were having, another thing that can/will make it shut off is jostling it around (like walking with it in your pocket) or setting it down hard. I've noticed that the battery spring is a little soft, so it doesn't take too much for the battery to momentarily disconnect from the control head. Just wanted to give a heads up on that.

I'm having the same problem. Yesterday, I could get it to switch on, but it would go through all the starting screens, let me take a couple seconds of a puff, then die. Over and over, no matter what batteries I used. I tried updating to 1.2, but it acts like it's updating, but the current status screen keeps saying 1.1. Today, it won't come on at all. If I plug it in to the computer, it says that it's charging and upgrading, but will not come on. Tried cleaning all connections, but no joy. I'm guessing I just got a bad one, at this point, but if anyone can think of anything else that I could try, I would appreciate it.

There was a recall notice for some heads. Mine was in the serial number range but the German highend smoke site never responded to me. I don't use the evic much anymore it's an expensive ohm meter ha. Bought a provari and very happy with it.
