Looks a little top-heavy with a tank on it, but not too bad.

It's probably important to note that these are the new Efest 18350s that are rated for 10.5 amps. I'm pretty sure you want a high power battery in one of these things, even with the safety features they have built in.

As I was typing that: My eVic went into overload protection and stopped functioning when the battery got down to 3.5volts (and I was only asking for 3.75volts) I put a fresh 18350 in and its back to normal. I guess I'll play around with it like this for a while and see if it seems safe. Maybe someone with a better understanding of batteries can chime in here and tell me how stupid I am before I blow my face off.

So going on your snug and using the outer ring to keep tight. I took the replaceable button switch out snug my tank on that then screwed them both back on already attached and it seems to work better now. I didn't think I was going to use this battery far all day including work device but as new toys go you want to use them as much as possible. Being that a couldnt snug my tank down the last time I took my battery out of my pocket there went my tank I thought the glass was going to break for sure. It made the 4 ft drop from my pocket to the concreat no cracks and it didn't shatter way to go kanger!!! The vendor I bought the tank from offered for me to ship it back have them test it and then fix it, and if it was un fixable send me a new one... Yea I just paid $150. For a refurbished tank.... You know they have something set up with joyetech that they get credit for defectives.

Love mine. Much better design and build than the original evic. That being said, one thing I do find annoying are the ridges on the adjustment dial as well as the battery cover are a bit sharp. Not enough to cause injury, but finger gets snagged on it if just right.

I noticed some sharp edges too. The more you hold it, the more the oil from your hands helps "smooth" it out a bit. I scraped a knuckle on the battery cap my first time changing the battery.

Vaping at 20watts (.7ohms, 3.8volts, 5.3amps) and I only get about 70-80 3.5 second "puffs" before it went into overload protection. I changed to a 2.0ohm Kanger dual coil and backed the power down to 10watts (4.5volts, 2.3amps) and got another 20-30 puffs out of it. I turned the power up to 18watts with the Kanger on it, and it shut down before I even pulled the trigger. With a single coil Kanger at 8-9 watts I was able to drain the battery even further. So if you ask for more amps than are available, you're not going to get them. I'm really liking the safety features in the eVic Supreme, and I really like the size of it with the smaller battery tube. But it looks like 18350s are probably still not a very good option for anyone vaping all day at 20+ watts...no new news there.

Note: All of the above information is based on the findings of just another vaping idiot who found an ohms calculator and now thinks he is Nikola Tesla.

You do know that Nikola Tesla emasculated himself to keep his mind on his work? :p

Do any of you guys who got one have a Provari? I'm getting ready to upgrade from my original eVic (which I'm very happy with) and was planning to get a Provari, but then this came out and it's getting rave reviews. Which means I'm torn... trying to decide whether to go with the extra range of the Supreme in the same basic style I'm used to or the tank-like reliability of the Provari that's so good it converts owners into cult members.

So for people who have both: If you could only use one of these and it would be your all day, every day device for the foreseeable future, which one would you go with and why?

A quick pic of a dual coil 0.5ohm build I had on it today. It ran it completely fine without a single problem.

I used 24gauge wire with 8 or 9 wraps each I can't really remember and I made the coils fairly large.

Used it at 0.5 for around 10mins before deciding to switch back to 1.3ohm dual micro coils for stronger flavour.

Personally not a fan of going really low on ohms as I like the flavour fairly strong, but I am happy to report 0.5 works as advertised no issues.

Finally got mine today. I have to say I'm not 100% happy with it. I don't like the sharp edges, the dim display, slow wattage setting (really slow, lets hope for firmware update), the cluttered display (would like to disable a lot of stuff there), the way you turn it off and the menu system with the ring. And the not adjustable 510 center pin, but screwing up the top cap works fine actually. But hey, it's a 30 watt device for 120€.

Maybe it'll grow on me :)

Assuming the chip inside really is proprietary joyetech and not one of the sx3x0 series chips, I can say from experience with my original evic that Joyetech does add and change features and abilities in firmware upgrades. In the last 2 versions of the original evic they added the ability to have ohms and voltage on the screen, and from watching video's of the first firmware they changed how a user enters vv and vw modes (made it simpler in later firmwares)

So that's all good news for you guys. I'm just waiting for somebody like PBUSARDO to review the thing and check the output. I'd really like to have one, but after having a DNA - I just wouldn't want to go backwards. ya know.....

Does anybody have a contact to joyetech to submit suggestions for the firmware?

    My suggestions for the software:

    • Increase brightness on the display. The OLED on my Seven-22 is way brighter.
    • Adjust wattage by 0.5 watt per step instead of 0.1. Or even better:
    • Each ring "click" increases the step up value if click follows faster than 0.5 seconds and in the same direction. Values would be like 0.1 watt, 0.4 watt, 0.5 watt, 0.5 watt. E.g. 1 click adjusts by 0.1 watt, 2 quick clicks increase by 0.5 watts, 3 quick clicks increase by 1 watt, 4 quick clicks increase by 1.5 watt. Remove auto scrolling with 3 quick clicks.
    • Ability to disable each of the different fields to have the display less cluttered
    • Ability to quickly lock the device with 5x + 1 click (there is some kind of weird delay there)
    • 510 connection replacement with adjustable center pin?

I simply got rid of the USB cover. Ok ok I lost it... it's set rather deep so it should be fine.

I'm no expert on batteries, but there is no way I would use a low amp battery unless I was vaping at a low amp setting...and if that were the case, I would just use my old low power eVic!

The Sony VTC5 is a safe bet. There's a couple of other 30+ amp batteries out now, but I don't think any of them are more than 2600mah

How would the 18650 IMR Batteries go with thie Evic Supreme?
