Just got my evic supreme in and of course it need a charge. Did anyone else have a problem connecting the mini USB? Mine was very tight on the flat side. Almost like the hole in the glass wasn't made big enough. All I have for an external charger is a good old trust fire.... And if you have to put trust in the name of your product you may not want to trust it. Don't get me wrong I've been using it for my old evic batteries but don't want to mess this up before I get to use it.

Yeah, now that you mention it, mine didn't align perfectly. I wiggled it side to side after I got it plugged in, and that fixed it. It didn't take much manipulation to make it perfect.

Didn't feel like it was going break it at all. I didn't try I only took one puff before I put it to charge. Want to get more than that out of it before I kill it. It does feel a bit more durable than the original though.

I guess I should add that I switched to a 2600mah VTC5, but the VTC4 shouldn't be too far behind.

I'm finding the VTC4 supplied is barely lasting me a day, so interested you are using the VTC5 and may try and get one. Is there any difference I should be aware of other than capacity, i.e. is it "safe" to use in place of the recommended VTC4? Any reason I shouldn't put a VTC5 in the original eVic while I'm at it, I've heard they're safer than the old Samsung 2600 mah?

Micro USB ports I think are save to leave open, think of your smartphone and laptop. You might try to cut away some rubber from the USB cover though.

Your probably right but the port does build up a bunch of gunk quickly if they are open. I have an htc dna phone and it has a cover as well and yes I have been tempted to cut it off cause it gets in the way when trying to plug in.

I'm very interested in the VTC5 I've been using this for a couple hours and already down to a 80% charge. I do have a few batteries for my old evic I could throw in there and joyetech did say it would be okay.... But I think it may not perform as well as the VTC4.... I'm guessing my next purchase will be a couple upgraded batteries and a better charger than I have now.

Just for reference, today I kept it at 20watts, averaged 3.5 second draws, and my "puff" counter is at 345 with 7% battery remaining, and it's still hitting hard! (That's with the VTC5 in it) So it looks like this will work out great for an all day PV...1 battery, hell yeah! I'll check it when it shuts off to see how low it lets it go. (I wish they'd add a battery amp meter to the Jumbotron screen on this thing. It's not like there isn't enough room, LOL)

I hope someone that knows more about batteries chimes in here, but the VTC5 is a step up from the 4, and I'm pretty sure it's safe to use here. Also, I don't think you need a better battery for your old eVic. (My original 5.2amp Samsung is still rockin with one year and 100,000 on the counter)

I'm no expert on batteries, but there is no way I would use a low amp battery unless I was vaping at a low amp setting...and if that were the case, I would just use my old low power eVic!

Any more in for on upgrade batteries ? What is the best to get for this thing. Thanks guys.

The Sony VTC5 is a safe bet. There's a couple of other 30+ amp batteries out now, but I don't think any of them are more than 2600mah

I can't imagine living without anything other than my 3400mah Panasonics.

I have used the Panasonic ncr18650b and the ncr18650pf in my original eVic. The 2900 mAh ncr18650pf lasts longer by a good margin as it has more capacity in a usable voltage range than the 3400mAh ncr18650b.

I don't have the eVic supreme (yet) but I would speculate that the Sony us18660vtc5 would be an excellent upgrade to the vtc4 supplied with the supreme.

You definitely get more life off a vtc5, depending on your settings, but the vtc4 is lasting me a day or so. I got 2 more today at a local shop for 10 each. I say wait it out and save your dough for the next 30 amp battery with even longer life.

As far as chargers go, a trust fire will suffice. I verified this with a pretty reputable shop owner. The usual rules apply; pull it out once it's charged.

Both batteries are great, but with the recent onslaught of 30+ watt devices, battery manufacturers will surely take notice and hopefully step up.

I had an atomic on my evic supreme earlier, .6 ohms at 30 watts. Made me and my chum cough. Good stuff here, joyetech!

Any suggestions on a good charger that I can throw the batteries on over night and not have to worry about them sitting there fully charged? The time I finally get home for the day and the time I got to bed usually isn't enough time to fully charge a battery at least not for my Panasonic 3600mah. Other than weekends I may not have enough time at home to do the charging. That is why I have three batteries for the old evic.
