I like and still use my eVic daily, but it's always kind of irritated me that there's what feels like a 1/2 second delay from when I hit the fire button to when the coil gets the zap. I'm hoping the Supreme doesn't do this.

The innokin 134 does that too, the explanation is that the chip checks the resistance of the atty each time the fire button is depressed. I've just gotten in the habit of pressing the button as I raise it to my mouth.

Actually that habit got so strong that i always do that now, no matter what I'm using...not necessarily the best thing but whatev... ;)

Question: Can you pretty much use any 18350 tube with the control head as long as it fits? Like can I get a 18350 tube from a mechanical mod or does it pretty much have to be one specifically made for this device?

With the original control head, yes. With the evic-s, using anything other than what comes with it sort of defeats it's purpose as a user friendly 30 watt fog machine.

A mechanical mod tube with a switch at the end won't be practical. Other than that, only the threading will have to fit.

If you just want a different style, you could also make your own wrap or something.

I'd be interested in a broader base tbh, I hate 22mm mods by now since they always topple when I move my table. Already got a ding in my top cap

That's a design feature: one short press brings up the information screen without firing the coil. I like it actually: I have a mod here that brings up the information screen *and* fires rightaway. Well it's a pain: whenever I just want to check the coil's resistance, the remaining charge or the power setting, I have to do the quickest press possible to read the screen and not waste power firing the coil for nothing.

I have a side question regarding the eVic Supreme: does it get very hot if you vape it with a dripping atomizer? With my eVic, after 10 minutes of heavy vaping at 10W, the plastic beauty ring becomes so hot it's almost impossible to touch, and that scares me a little. I wonder if the Supreme has better heat dissipation.

I'm having a similar problem with mine. There seems to be a spot on the bottom cap that heats up really hot really quickly if I pass more than 4.7v through it.

I contacted Joyetech and they send me a paid envelop to send it back in so the technicians can have a look

Sorry if this is off topic, but can someone tell me if the Supreme's head is bigger than the original Evic's head and if the build quality is similar (v2)? Also, is Ovale and Joyetech the same company or is there a difference in their products besides the name?

Not sure about Ovale vs Joyetech, but the Supreme is the exact same diameter as the original, but about 1/2" longer. And the build quality is substantially better on the new one, but it's still not bullet proof like a Provari

The supreme control head is taller, side by side pics here:

Build quality of the control head is similar to V2 but has 4 screws holding top on instead of 2 (or none on the V1), also the replaceable 510 connector of course.

Ovale was the original designer of eVic, Joyetech was their manufacturer, but seem to have branched out on their own versions since.

Very interesting article. Hmm well I notice the joyetech evics don't have their logo but the ovale one has the logo below the head. Can anyone recommend a good 18350 tube? I've seen the Anyvape ones but I hear there is a gap? I haven't decided if I'm going to get the supreme or original yet but I'm looking to finalize a purchase soon. I'm leaning towards the evic because it's cheaper and I don't need high wattage vaping.

No gap with these, and the black one is that rubbery feeling finish. The silver one is kinda weird, but not ugly: kind of a textured chrome

Well it's a pretty solid mod feature wise and available in numbers. The only thing a DNA30 mod has on it is +/- buttons instead of the ring that is a bit unwieldy, and the only thing that a SX350 mod would have on it would be 5 watts more. And gravity sensing if you are into that more. The DNA30 clone box mod on fasttech is probably more bang for bucks.
