Congrats on your journey.
You may want to upgrade your firmware. You can do so here:
Software download - Joyetech
That may help with the problem.

You should be getting a pretty good vape off your kit regardless. How am best acheiving a better quality vape?
What's that??
I don't but from totally wicked anymore. My kit cost me £60 everywhere else was asking £85 and my liquid I get 150ml for £21 plus postage. I haven't had to get anymore coils yet but my local shop does a good deal. I will get a new tank when I have the funds haha. But I have just tured TC off and tured it down to 20watts and the vape is great now!You should be getting a pretty good vape off your kit regardless.
Vapers seeking clouds prefer higher VG liquid. Personally, I don't have much interest so will vape everything but NOT 100% of one or the other.
Just filled a new tank with 80/20 liquid (PG). The vapour doesn't look much, but the kick is superb.
My own opinion is that Joyetech tanks are not particularly good and boy, do you pay a lot for them from Totally Wicked.
I went to a shop today (not Totally Wicked) ... in another city and nearly fell over at the prices. Vaping buying supplies from a shop like that would be costing me hundreds, maybe even £1,000 more per year for exactly the same products.
£3.50 per coil. £16 for 5.
My new coils were £5.40 for 5.
£89.99 for a kit which is £54.99 everywhere else.![]()

Just ordered 70% vg sorry and I've just tired turned TC off and running it at 20watts at 0.21 and the vape is great now. I didn't get the cig for TC I was just fed up of using my ego one I like a chunky battery, and my friend suggested this onemy personal preference is a 70%vg juice, running a .25-.5 ohm coil in wattage mode (25-35 watts for .5, 35-55 watts for .25)
There's lots out there. Depends on what power you prefer really.Looking forward to getting a new tank but not sure what yet
quick heads up - if it is an Ni coil, do not run in wattage mode - maybe use one of the coils from the ego one tank? Ni coils should only be used in TC mode - they make non-TC coils for that tank, but personally, if you are going to spend money on it, would look at a different tank (kanger subtank mini, tobeco super tank mini are two very solid options, imo)Just ordered 70% vg sorry and I've just tired turned TC off and running it at 20watts at 0.21 and the vape is great now. Why can't I use ni coil in watts mode? Kitty - going to have to let some wiser folks than myself chime in on this, but my understanding of it is that using those coils in wattage mode can cause them to go past safe temps - for those types of wire - and create a hazard... Ni and Ti coils are typically marked for use in TC modes only, for that reason... for wattage mode, you want a Kanthal (pretty standard) or SS (stainless steel) coil as those will not produce toxic/ hazardous residues at higher temps... with Ni and Ti being really low resistance wires, they can heat up/ overheat REALLY fast... again, hopefully someone with a little more TC know how will chime in here (@jseah , @Kaezziel , @LouisLeBeau ) because my TC-fu is limited, I still tend to vape wattage modes and only use kanthal, nichrome (not nickel) and stainless wire in my buildsWhy can't I use ni coil in watts mode? subtank mini is a very decent piece of kit - versatile, lots of options, very reliable overall - i have a quite a few high end sub tanks and still use my subtanks regularly - good airflow, very decent coil optionsDecided to go with a subtank been looking and reviews and apparently these are great!!
