So Im having the problem of it jumping out of temp mode when I use my rda with nickel wire. Sometimes I can go and mess with the screws and It will work for few puffs. I have spent hours trying to get it stay in temp mode by making sure all connections are good but I cant get it to consitanly stay in temp mode unless I build close to .2 ohms. If I go anywhere near .05 ohms then if refuses to stay in temp mode and jumps into watts mode. Has anybody found a solution to this?

Help please..
I am late here. The reason I joined is because I had the same problem just this morning and it took me some time to figure it out and it was when I read some of the responses here. Background: I had my eVic VT for 2 weeks now and everything was fine until this morning putting a new Ti coil. Long story short, I loosened the resistance just a bit and it is working fine now. I had the same message of Temp Protection and now all good after I loosened it and got the new coil message. hope that helps.

I have 2 Evic VTs and both work perfectly fine. I have noticed that the tc works a little differently than some other tc mods. I just adjust to suit my vape style. Seems like u adjust for temp more than watts on the VT. I use a IPV3li for tc and I can get just as good a vape with the VT! Sucks if your having a bad experience with VT and I hope u get things sorted out.

Hi

Picked up my new evic vt today, tried using the variable temp Ni function with the Ni 200 coil that comes in the ego one mega tank in the box, but when I tried to use the VT function, it kept giving me a temp protection message, and woudnt fire. I switched out the coil for the titanium one, and had the same problem with the VT Ti function. I locked the resistance but it didnt help at all. It works fine on the VW function, however the vapor is very hot. For this reason I mostly use this box mod with my atlantis tank, and that seems to work great.

Any help with these new VT features would be appreciated.

Thanks

I burn TiCoils on the eGo Mega head my eVic VT came with at 35W at about 540 power for a nice hit....but nicoils I burn at 30W with only about 380power and it tastes great. One thing I notice is I can use a TiCoil but set the VT to NiCoil and turn the power way down to like 350 and get a killer tasting not hot vape with good cloud....this is weird you can fire a TiCoil on the NiCoil setting at all but it works nicely for me...tastes much better than a higher temp on the Ti setting.....weird.

Read the manual.
Are you getting the new coil right screen?

What coil are you using?
It will only fire in the correct mode.
Did the new atomizer screen post when you screwed it on.
Take your time, read the manual.

Not entirely true. My TiCoils will fire fine and at a much lower temp setting if I set the VT to NiCoil with a ticoil in the unit and it tastes wonderful, even better than when on the Ti setting. Not sure why that's even possible but it is and works very well.

Guys I have the Evic VT (RY) in VT Ni mode the recommended temp is 500 degrees. You are getting a temp warning because you are FAR TOO LOW. Safe Temp (F) zones for VT-Ni (Nickel) are from 475-525 degrees. For VT-Ti (Titanium) 425-475 degrees. While in Variable Temp. mode (VT) I would set your watts between 35w-45w and leave it be.

Agreed, I leave my wattage at 30 and only adjust temp for a 70/30 liquid on NiCoil mode at 340Power and it tastes great. Ticoils I have to set to about 550 power to get a good vape but it doesn't taste near as good even if I up the wattage to whatever (Ive tried min/med/max wattage, and no change or very little). One thing weird is I can use a TiCoil in the unit but set it to Ni and burn at about 360-ish give or take (much lower than TiCoil setting requires) and it tastes incredible....weird that it's even possible to set a Ti coil to Ni and it fires just fine.....

It's not that weird. The Evic doesn't know what kind of wire you're using, and it doesn't measure the temperature that you're vaping it at. It measures the change in resistance as the wire heats up. Titanium has a higher resistance than nickel and heats up on a different curve as well. That's why you have to set your temp 80 to 100 degrees lower when vaping Ti in Ni mode.

Picked up an Evic VT this week for dirt cheap - a local shop sells them for $50 with 10% off during "happy hour". Add my in-store credit of $25 and it was $20 plus tax out the door. this one doesn't come with a tank and I verified it is authentic. I pulled the trigger on temp control yesterday and put a nickel coil in my subtank with some of my max VG juice. I've found that it is really anemic under 500 degrees on my subtank. Seems to perform best at 530 degrees and 40 watts.

I found this thread after a search due to having problems with the eVic I picked up yesterday. Seems there are some here who have had nothing but good experiences with their own and want to dismiss problems others have...some of the statements here are quite insulting to people's intelligence. I can saw without hesitation that these devices are not leaving the factory defect free. You see the same problems posted...mine worked fine for a day and then....

I'll be taking mine back to the store tomorrow. It was good for about an hour but I need something that is more stable. I'm suspecting the board or pin connections in these things are bad because it reads incorrect resistance rather consistently. This is after cross-checking the atty that came pre-installed, another for a Delta II wit Ni coil, and one I built. My ohm meter reads resistance, i consistent with the rating of the factory coils, but the eVic reads different...usually lower than actual.

Got mine two weeks ago and worked fine till yesterday. I am using the mega one tank and Ni coils. Not matter what coils I use, as soon as it goes in sleep mode it kicks MW out of tc. Only way yo fix it is to unscrew tank and set it as a new coil.
Its just a piss off considering the mega tanks and coils were designed to work with the device yet they don't, in a way.
I've also heard that there are faulty coils and that the new ones don't do this. Will see tomorrow when I go and get some more coips and see what happens.

Sucks the people are having issues with the Evic VT. I have had mine running pretty smoothly. I run both the stock Ego Mega tank as well as Uwell Crown tanks. in nickel mode I usually start at 400degF for a new coil, I like a slow break in to get the most out of my coils. I set my unit to 57.6watts. Don't ask me why but I like 57.6 lol. 420-500F is where I mainly vape. I think everyone has posted all kinds of possible solutions, when I first got it I thought my temp mode was screwy but it was because my watts and temp were too low. I hope you get this sorted out, it is a bummer to buy a unit that's faulty from the get go.

The evic has been tremendous in VT mode.
I use my two Lemo 2 tanks with Titanium wire coils.
I wasn't happy when I was using the vapor flask DNA40 in TC mode.
The evic changed that, now the Ti coils are blowing clouds in temp Ti 470°F
32W and 0.4Ω .
The evic VT mode and bamboo rayon wicks made the difference between average and great clouds.
It's a great TC mod.
I definitely agree with this post. The Evic VT is a very good device and the LiPo battery is wonderful.

Hi @EW17
I have an eVic VT and I got the same issue - and to me there is not really a fix if you keep using the eGo one Mega Tank with stock coils :-(

The coils a too little and they go in temperature too fast, not cool down as fast.. therefore you got this flat experience.

With the CLR Coil heads the experience is better but not that much.. :-(

With that being said, with Titanium I experienced the same issue on other tanks - I believe being related to the wire properties.
