According to a post on joyetech's forum they chose 304 SS as the baseline for TCR. It appears that most if not all of the pre-made SS coils on the market are 316. Can anyone tell me what kind of temperature offset is needed when using 316? Also, is there any advantage or disadvantage using 304 vs 316 or 317?

I'm running SS mode on 316 and they seemed to work flawlessly. I won't worry it too much if I were you. You'll still need to play around with the temperature and wattage to get the best out of juice and coil built anyway, irrespective of whether you have a 304 or 316 coil.
