Evod 2 leaking

I just received an Evod 2 Starter Kit with two e-cigarettes.

I have spent quite a bit of time today trying to figure out how to stop the Evods (both of them) from gurgling and leaking.

They both appear to be leaking out of the air holes in the base... even when not in use.

I read somewhere that one should keep them at least 1/3 full to avoid leaking. I have wasted about 20 ml's of e-juice so far!

I followed the sparse directions that came in the box and have looked for additional tips online... to no avail.

I've attached a photo. Any advice is appreciated.

When I used those kinds of tanks and they started to gurgle I would unscrew them, wrap the base in a paper towel and blow through the tip. Liquid will then be expelled out of the air chamber and you should be able to vape without flooding. I. Made it a practice after I filled them to blow through the tip and expel any liquid that might have leaked. Also do this at any sign of gurgle. It will get the liquid out of the air chamber. This worked for me. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Wow! That is unusual for evods to leak that much!

Could be a bunch of different things...
Check:
Coil screwed tight
Missing or screwed up o-ring
Air leak through the top somehow
Very thin juice (high pg) and hot summer temp causing leakage
Using a single coil in a dual coil evod 2
Top of the coil not seating against the air tube in the tank

Are you using the newer enclosed dual coils or the original dual coils?

Hey thank you very much for the replies, realsis and Btsmokincat!

Great advice, and I'm glad for this information.

As it turns out, this was purely a case of user error.

The coil units come with little plastic caps that looked like they were for shipping purposes. I assumed that they should be removed. Wrong!

I've replaced the caps, cleaned everything out (including the battery area) and I'm happily vaping.

Cheers!

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at this one. Yeah, those grommets and silicone caps are kind of important. :p

Glad to hear that you figured it out and got everything working!

Sorry I had to laugh too! Mostly because I thought the same thing so many months ago when I stepped up from the dreaded Blu's to a Kanger Evod kit! Glad it was an easy fix Stevland!

I guess we can all laugh, now that you got it fixed.:)

Those are easy mistakes to make. One of my hobbies is papercrafting, and I got a fancy paper trimmer to cut paper precisely. It came with a foam strip that was important for it to work right. I thought it was packing material and threw it away. I thought I got a defective trimmer, when my brain was what was defective!:D

And welcome to the forum. Happy to have you with us.

just a side note: if you get gurgling take one of those plastic rings and flip it upside down and put on top of the other it will stop the gurgling and possible small leaks. this is because it seals the air tube at both ends instead of one, trust me it works great saved me from trowing 4 evod tanks away. i don't use them much nay more but i know i have them if needed.
