EVOD battery got extremely hot

Hi - I was wondering if this happened to anyone? I have an EVOD with an MT3 atomizer and just this evening the battery got extremely hot (couldn't hold it in my hands) and remained that hot for half an hour. I turned it off and was still hot, now it's out on the balcony sort of warmish after 1 hour, I'm afraid it could explode or something?

Should I throw it away?

At the price these are nowadays, I wouldn't personally use it anymore.

I would Definitely NOT USE Any e-Cigarette or mod that got so Hot that you could not hold it.

Leave it outside in a fire proof place (clay pot or on concrete) for a day at least. Then recycle it.

That battery sounds like it came close to thermal runaway, and probably has major internal damage. Not safe to use. Dispose of the battery and get a new one.

Ego batteries use a LiPo lithium chemistry, which can be extremely volatile when they go into thermal runaway (shorted). They can burst into flames or actually explode, like the one in this video which was charging on a bar counter:

The battery seems to be dead. It doesn't charge anymore and it has cooled down completely now. It's burned for sure.

Should I still leave it on the balcony till tomorrow when I will recycle it? It doesn't seem to be dangerous any longer, it seems to be dead, lol.

If it has already cooled down, the drama is over. Just don't try to use it again in case it still has some juice (electricity) left. I personally would not have even tried to charge it, as this is the time when they are most vulnerable.

@Batitude - I was also afraid to try and charge it but I said what the heck (I plugged in the mini-USB from my laptop in it an jumped 2 meters back lol, nothing happened. Like I said It cooled down now and the led doesn't light up anymore, does that mean it has been burned?

I've heard that they are the most vulnerable while charging

The Chances of something happening are about Zero. But why take it in you house Anyway.
