I use 32g or 30g, either will work. 32g is smaller so some can find it annoying, but easier to get a higher resistance with less wraps. 30g is better if you're planning on dry-burning so will hold up to that better. 32g is generally what the stock coils are made of.

Good luck on rebuilding them, it's highly-encouraged. :) If you struggle with the coil part, fasttech has prebuilt NR-R-NR single-wick coils that work great for like... 50 for $3. And once you've got it down, checkout the microcoil thread with cotton for a really terrific vape.

Been some time since I've done evod/protank recoils, but if I remember correctly,
1/16 bit, 8 wraps of 30awg, gave me 1.6ohms to 1.8ohms.
You can probably squeeze in 10 wraps of 30awg to get near 2.2ohms, but it MIGHT touch the sides of the head, causing a short.
Or you can use a larger diameter bit with less wraps, but the bit would not fit into the slots of the head. Might make it more fiddly to position the coil if you've not done it before.

I suggest trying both 30awg and 32awg to see which suits you.

That was the first thing I ever learned to rebuild (you don't know me, but it is safe to say it is easy)

I did 32 gauge and like 5 wraps around a thick needle I was using. I liked around 1.8 at the time. There are several really good YouTube's that helped me. Good luck to you but I know you will be fine.
