Happy 4th to my fellow 'Muricans :p
I popped into a local B & M yesterday and picked up an EVOD just to introduce myself to the world of bottom coils. I got home, filled it and it wouldn't fire. I broke it down, reseated everything and then it worked just fine. Later, I changed juices and have not been able to get it to fire since then. I've tried it on my C Twist and my MVP. Could it be a dud head or, more likely, I'm just not understanding the mechanics of this thing? Sucks, since the place will be closed until Monday.

You can try and pull the center pin out slightly and see if it will then make contact. I find the connection pins on Kanger style heads like to compress causing it not to make contact. One of my co-workers bought an EVOD with battery and the only solution was to replace the head. The coil leads just weren't making a solid, consistent connection.

Sounds like the pin on bottom getting depressed by "one" of your mods. Try using it on the same mod all the time once you get it adjusted....some of the connectors on different mods are less deep, or too deep, and once you pull that pin out and it makes contact you don't want one of your mods pushing it back in. Hope you make it thru the weekend!

Never buy "one" of anything. :)

Sounds like a contact problem to me. I agree with the suggestion of pulling the bottom part of the head out a little so it makes better contact with the battery. I actually bought a evod that only had half the normal amount of threads cut in it, so it would not screw down enough on the battery to make good contact. Pulling the pin out of the head a little got it working until I got a replacement base.

Also, after you try fiddling with the center posts...make sure the coil/head is screwed in good. Sometimes, when unscrewing the base to refill, you inadvertently loosen the coil/head assembly.

Perhaps this is a clone, there are no threads on the coil/head or center tube. The head just drops in.

I gave all the components a good cleaning and now it's firing. I guess I''ll see on the next refill. Thanks for all the replies!
