you could be getting dry, burnt hits if you are chain vaping faster than it can wick eliquid (removing 1 or both of the flavor wicks may remedy this)

or (and this is common with kanger and kanger clone more often now) the coil has an issue with a hot leg (the little straight leg of wire coming up inside from the positive post is glowing instead of the coil itself) in which case you need to replace the head (or rebuild it if you have reached that level of rebuilding - I am actually starting to rebuild with NRN wire (nonresistance-resistance-nonresistance, and yes, I am getting to be an even a more geeky vapor))

sorry for the bad news

oh, and welcome to vaping and the ECF

I haven't tried an evod but if you are getting a burnt taste it usually means that the wicks/wicking material is dry or has not soaked up enough liquid. Whenever I change out the coils in my clearo I usually let it sit a few minutes before using it so that it can soak up liquid. Then, I usually take a few draws on my ecig without hitting the battery button just to draw in liquid. I also usually take shorter draws on it at first to make sure I don't run the wick dry before it is totally saturated. If the coil head on your evod has little wicks sticking out you could even put a drop on the wicks, put the evod back together, then try again. Hope this helps and that you get it going. Maybe someone who uses evods will help out more. Good luck.

I got some some hints for ya :D I have been using Evods for quite some time. You will be happy to know that the wick used is silica. Silica does not burn. It is a glass fiber that can glow but will not burn under vaping temperatures. So with that being said if you are experiencing a bad or burnt flavor there are some factors that could be causing it. First is if you have been using the coil head for quite some time buildup of waste on the coil and silica wick will give off a bad flavor. You can remedy by rinsing with water and dry burning the coil. If you do not how there are plenty of resources to aid you with that. Next up are dry hits. When the wick is not wet enough with liquid it will cause a dry hit. Like before mentioned there are some ways to adjust the amount if liquid being pulled into the coil chamber. One of which like Dakota said is to remove one or both of the flavor wicks that lay on top of the coil not strung through it. Depending on the juice you use will depend on how much you remove. During a dry hit the coil can be burning off what's on the coil itself and maybe even what's on the wick. Giving you a bad flavor. Next like before mentioned are hot legs and or gaps between the wick and coil. Next would be anything that could be left over from the manufacturing process. I would advise you to rinse, dry burn, and rinse again to avoid what could be there. Now alot of people may tell you they don't and there's no need to but allways better safe than sorry right. Lastly depending on the device you use, voltage/wattage settings could be too high for the ohm resistance of the coil you are using. I hope me and some of the others have given you some knowledge needed to remedy your issues. If you are able to figure out your issue and remedy it great, if not were are allways here to help. Welcome to the forum I'm new here as well :D

I recently bought a protank and at first it too had a bad taste when I got it. washed it out and used the other coil and it still had a funky taste. it wasn't exactly a burnt taste so maybe it is a different issue but after a day or two of use it just slowly disappeared.

I have 4 evod's and I never had any issues with any of them

Thanks for the welcome! I've only been vaping for about a week now but I completely understand rebuilding. I just ordered some wick and new coils. Hopefully that works

I find if I don't let my juice soak in long enough after I dry burn and refill that I get the dry hit burnt taste. Like others have said maybe try removing one of the flavor wicks. ? Good luck and welcome! :D

I started out with the same problem. Ended up fixing itself on it's own luckily :) But like others have said, you may need to remove a flavor wick from the top of the atomizer. Search on YouTube for "evod removing wick" and there will be plenty of videos that will give you a step by step. If that doesn't help, you may need to replace your atomizer head. Very cheap replacement. Don't give up on the Evod! It is a very nice clearomizer, that once you get working properly can be a very satisfying vape
