EVODS are ruining my life

I posted a little bit about my leaking issues a couple of weeks ago. I started off vaping on the v2, didn't like it all that much, so I switched to an eGo battery and bought an EVOD tank to go with it. I almost immediately started having issues with the thing gurgling and leaking all over the place. So far, I have tried:
-Adjusting how tightly I have the tank screwed on to the battery
-Removing the bottom head and blowing through the chimney area, wiping off all areas that should stay dry
-Rinsing out tank and head, turning tank upside down and drying overnight
-Switching juices (thought maybe the clove flavor was causing problems)
-Trying a completely different juice vendor
-Disassembling entire structure, checking all seals, washing with warm soapy water and rubbing alcohol; then dry burning the coil
-Buying a completely new EVOD

It doesn't seem to matter what I do! Even this brand new EVOD I just got in the mail an hour ago is gurgling, leaking, and occasionally spitting so violently that I end up with big drops of juice in my mouth. I am taking the gentlest drags I can. This is driving me INSANE. What am I doing wrong? Should I be holding it differently, more horizontal or more vertical? Should I be using PG or mostly PG juice, instead of the mostly VG I am using now? I feel like I am about to turn into the Hulk, here.

I'm here, when I'm here
Couple of other things to try.
1. Make sure the coil is a little more than snug tight on the base. I actually "tighten" mine down. No gurgling, leaking, or even occasionally spitting.
2. Turn the rubber gasket on the chimney upside down. I've heard folks say that helps.

Good luck and Happy Vaping!? :vapor:

I'm so sorry you are having such troubles. I have about 4 Evods and they work well for me with my ego. The only thing I can think is maybe you are filling it too full to start with, before you screw the head/coil back in. When I fill mine, I drip the juice slowly down the side, holding the Evod at a slight angle. I stop when the juice is about 1/4" inch from the top. If juice gets into that center tube, it might mess up the whole vacuum thing with the tank. And my juice is the standard blend that Mt. Baker Vapor sells, 80 pg/20 vg. Maybe the mostly vg juice could be part of the problem. I have only used the 80/20 so can't speak about the vg juice.

What is the resistance on your coils? And what volts are you using? Does the leaking happen as soon as you fill up, or when the tank starts to get low? Where is the juice coming from?

I don't know how to find out what the resistance on my coils is. The battery has a normal working voltage of 3.3V-4.2V and it is not adjustable. The leaking happens as soon as I fill up. The juice is leaking down onto the battery connection and sometimes spitting up and into my mouth. Or the juice is coming from Virgin Vapors, depending on what you mean by "coming from" ;)

Are you making sure that no liquid gets into the airflow tube of your eVod????

Is the atomizer head screwed tightly into the base?

Maybe this will help:

I have and regularily use an Evod and find to to be very reliable. The only time I have leaks is from the bottom into the 510 connection. The silicon seal where the stem of the head pushes against the internal tube must be good and the wicks must keep the head from pulling too much juice into the coil. Taking a hard draw will force more juice into the head as stated previously so airflow is very important. Opening up the draw is important to stopping flooding.

With that said If trying a new head, checking the air flow from your 510 connection (make sure its not full of juice), adjucting the presure of your draw then the final idea is to wrap some tape around the body of the evod to rule out presure loss.

Good point about the draw. You could be drawing too hard and flooding the coil.

Oh my god, this works! WHY DOES THIS WORK? Are you a wizard??
Thank you for the secret EVOD cheat code. You're the best.

And thank you to everyone else for the other replies, it's nice to know I have a lot of little things I can fiddle with and try out when I have trouble.

I BET when you dry burned the coil there were no flavor wicks.

If that's the case, open up the coil and stuff cotton in the two slots; you can also try twisting cotton into wicks and laying they straight accross which is easier to do, but that tends to tighten up the draw (slow down the airflow).

Gravity draws liquid downwards so if you BCC tank is leaking you'll find keeping it upside down most of the time makes it work.
