Evolv dna chip and Yihi chip,which one is better?

For a newbie is a loaded question --
for the dna200 if you want to try titanium or stainless steel temp coils you need to be able to attach it to a windows computer and set the TCR -- evolv lets you also set wires up with a CSV file, I suppose this is for more exotic wire possibilities that don't have a flat TCR that can be defined by a single number.
some of the yihi's have firmware that lets you program a TCR # but they don't take CSV files -- the problem with yihi in my opinion is they abandon creating new firmware for their devices once something new in that line has been released.
evolv on the other hand has added dozens of features requested on their forums and have an excellent support record. My personal preference is evolv -- I built 3 dna200's and they are the best devices i own.

+1 tp @tehdarkaura I like Evolv chips, too. Frankly, though, unless you're a techno-freak they're hard to tell apart. Most people will be perfectly happy with either, once they learn how to coil their attys and set the board, and never upgrade the firmware at all. I have a Yihi chip in my SX Mini M, and I never have; and probably because I never bought any Ti wire since I'm not out of Ni200. That's a question for modders to worry about, not vapers ;-)
I own both and each works pretty well. I don't use Ni200 so I really can't comment on that end of things.
I had issues with my DNA mods and it did take quite a bit of time to get my mods back, one made several trips. I also build mods and had issues with my DNA chips. Until the DNA200 came out no firmware updates were offered, just new chips. We'll see what happens with the DNA200.

That's a bonus and they supported the upgrades on several chips for around a year. It's a good stable chip and until the SX flask came out was very stable. The Flask I believe was a custom chip and I don't own one so I can't really speak to that device.
I still use both manufacturers chips but for me the SX chip has been more stable and the upgrades kept me current with the new wire that we used to vape.

sorry to hijacked. but can u upgrade the evolve chip thru a Mac computer?
without a windows VM or parallels not at this time -- they are working on a mac version but its not available yet.
that really sucks. i just went to Escribe forum, many Mac user has been complaining abt not having their dna200 recognised by mac.
yeah -- i've seen 'em -- evolv makes it pretty clear they only have a windows client right now.
I know that Apple makes MFG's jump through a lot of hoops before they will approve any drivers, the evolv chip has a custom ID so needs a custom usb->serial driver approved by apple before they can make it work there...
Things are a lot easier on the windows side -- you release a signed driver and that's the end of the story...
Apples restrictive software environment is one of the down sides with going that route.
My personal preference is Yihi chips. My M classes are the most versatile mods I have. I don't have a DNA200 though. My DNA40s are all problematic so its caused me a bias against Evolv.

I agree with your take on the dna40 -- not my cup of tea -- the dna200 however is a beast and rock solid...
Roxys opinion is why I got a Yihi based device. Simple and reliable and most importantly it has reverse battery protection.
I know, most will say its common sense... blah blah blah, but if Im paying over 200 something I want to make sure its "me" proof.
PS... SHaddup, I know some are saying, I guess if you're an idiot....

I personally prefer the Evolv chip. I have two DNA200's and a DNA40. For the YiHi chip, I've had the SX Mini M Class, the IPV4, and the Sigelei 150 TC. On all three YiHi chipped TC mods, I have gotten dry hits on several occasions.
I have both and I like both. I prefer TC on the Evolv board, the pre-heat and the way regulates the temp is smoother. My comparison is between a dna40 and a IPVD2, that may not be a fair comparison because the D2 board does not have the same options. I would say that the SX350-J would be just as good if not better than the DNA200. I think you need to find the device you like and go with what it has in it, either the SX350J or the DNA200 and you will have a great device.
I have a reg SX350 60 watt Yihi based device. It only gets set at 10.3 watts. I did not need TC or anything special. Im a basically a step above "tootle" 
The reverse battery protection what the real deciding factor. I had a Mark Bugs WAE2 and sold it... I just knew Id mess it up by being so nervous about putting the battery in backwards.
