While I'm in a rush to get some flavors so when my PG and Nicotine liquid comes in I can start right away, I'm reminding myself I have plenty of juice and can wait a little longer until I have more money.

I have some questions, I have read the stickies up top for the most part.

I have the e-juice calculator downloaded and running. My nicotine is coming in at 36mg strength. I'm a little confused about the calculator. I use about 11/12 mg strength so obviously need to cut it down. On the calculator it goes something like this and I want to know from other DIYers if this sounds about right, makes sense, and what's what.

Nicotine Strength E-Juice(is this my nicotine base liquid??)-- 36mg
Target Nicotine Strength-- 12mg
Amount to Make-5ml

Nicotine e Juice- 1.67ml / 33 drops
--

I want to make sure that sounds right and I'm understanding the calculator correctly before I start using it.

How about nicotine testing strips? I've searched on ecf, google, not sure where to find them! I'd really love to get my hands on a pack before I declare my family and friends as guinea pigs to my creations. Please help me with a link or even store I can get some from.

Also, when it comes to liquid flavor supplies I LOVE onestopdiyshop the only part i'm not a fan of is their s&h costs. It doesn't seem worth making a small order there. I also know about PA, DIY flavor shack, any other great ones that I should look into as well?

Sorry If you've answered these questions previously! As mentioned feeling very nooby about all this. Thanks for any and all advice!

Just make sure you press the calculate button on the bottom of the calculator after you make any entries or changes. The calculator does NOT automatically update changes!

And yes you are correct, I ran your numbers on my calculator, but don't forget to add in your flavorings on the calculator. These numbers would change if you add flavorings.

I use Perfumers Apprentice and also purchase Flavor Art flavors from E-Cig Express. E-Cig Express has given me really great service. I really like the Flavor Art tobacco flavors.

Here's the link for E-Cig Express: http://www.ecigexpress.com/flavoring-flavourart-condensed-c-16_29

Good luck!

Yes, the calculation is correct. 36mg/ml*1.67ml/5ml=12mg/ml. The calculator is pretty good, but it is always good to double check.

Try searching no Ebay for the strip kits.

I like a seldom mentioned vendor for FA flavors Pure Vapes. (Good prices on small, experimental amounts, and very reasonable shipping)
Capelllas has some great flavors too. (I wait for sales)
TPA/TFA is always expanding the selection there. (I never get out with only what I went there for)

The nicotine required for 12mg on a 5 ML bottle actually wouldn't change even if you added 30% flavoring. Just the amount of other components such as VG or PG.

I'm just wondering what the deal is with the testing kits out there. Is it actually testing the nicotine. If anyone has an aquarium they know there are products out there to test things like pH, Ammonia, Nitrates and such. If someone out there is a scam artist they could just relabel that type of product and have it change color for other stuff in the juice, just like Phil Busardo did.

The closest anyone has said about any kind of strips that could be used was Kurt, and he said there really is no such thing that he is aware of,and he is a chemist. The only thing you could check would be PH and really that wouldnt do you any good..

I was in the aquarium hobby for 15 years+ and I dont really know of anything that would work in a strip form either..

There are tons of videos posted here as well as on youtube . I think BMWJEN just posted a vid of doing it recently . Search the first few pages and you will find it . Its supposivly pretty acurate .I dont see the need to test it if buying nic from a legitamate vendor like RTS or xtremevaping . They have been proven to be pretty accurate if anything a slight bit lower in mg .

Heres the vid actually

Another .This one explains the math in calculating it . subtract what you start with from the level at where the liquid turns yellow then multiply by 19.47 and you get your actual mg . SOmething like that .
