i am new to vapourising but have spent some time over the past week checking out various UK websites and comparing prices etc. the only ecig i currently own is one i imported from china from dealextreme. it cost me $9 including shipping and it works beautifully.

i am looking to "upgrade" as i'm interested in seeing how much better the more expensive ones are, but i have to say i have made some rather troubling discoveries.

i have found numerous uk shops selling the exact same kit that i bought from china but for ~£30 and more. considering i got mine for the equivalent of about £6 i find this pretty bad! and it makes me wonder how much better the likes of a RIVA really is, considering that when dealextreme begin to stock it it will likely cost £15 or less.

so i guess the point in this thread is to ask for some reliable and CHEAP stockists in the UK for ecig stuff. i was about to place an order for the riva on liberty flights but if there is anywhere cheaper that i should know about then please let me know.

secondly, has anyone here been able to compare the cheap <$10 ecigs from dealextreme to the more expensive ones such as ego and riva? is the difference really worth the money?

it seems a bit like some of these companies are taking advantage of us poor nicotine addicts by importing cheap cigs from china and slapping a 500% increase on the price :(

i felt like i was in the same boat as you at one point, however i would strongly reccomend misteliquid.com, fast delivery and u get 15% off your first order.however i would reccomend u wait for the "510 cartomizer kit" to get back in stock as its 13.99, get that + some liquid + few spare cartomizers and ur set, plus free delivery! sparing that why not buy from china? i have ordered 3 times from there all have arrived in reasonable time (4,5,7 days respectively) and are alot cheaper, eastmall.net great!

oh there's nothing wrong with buying from china, but most of the specialist stores arent even that much cheaper - especially once you've added shipping costs on. the only truly cheap store i've found for ecigs is dealextreme, but their selection isn't huge (they have none of the newer type cigs, the joye 501 is the most well known that they have i think).

Hi and welcome.

There is NO e-cig kit (that is worth looking at) that could be sold in China for the price you mention. Are you sure you didn't buy a disposable e-cig?

Most of the e-cigs on DX are knock offs...or simply disposable. You cannot compare those products to any Major league Chinese Brands.

In fact... i just saw a one piece 510 look a like being sold for US $30 at DX. Now...that is one atomizer, one battery , one charger and carts. I bet that is not a JOYE 510...but you can buy a full 510 kit for a bit more than that.

You see...a Q10 disposable costs about $7-$10 dollars and it can last a month or 2...or more. Cheap is cheap most of the time and what appears to be an identical e-cig could easily be a fake.

There are very good UK suppliers (check the suppliers forum here) and they don't have the kind of profit you may think they have.

the 501 on DX is legitimate. read the forums, people have bought a second one from there after buying a more expensive one from somewhere else and have confirmed that they are real. the dse 901 on there is real as well, as well as many others. and actually, the $9 ecig is perfectly usable. my riva arrived this morning and the difference between them is not so amazing... i could have happily stuck with the $9 box (except i would have always been wondering how much better the riva might have been). in the search box type in 29044 and it should take you to the product i'm talking about.

you have to remember they're all made in china anyway. it makes perfect sense that they cost less to buy direct than through a UK or US re-seller. in UK we just get ripped off, on just about everything.

If you say the Riva is about the same compared to that e-cig then your mind is set.

The 510 on DX is not from Joye EVEN if it were it carries 1 battery and 1 atomizer for 30 US dollars. The JOYE 510 kit comes with 2 complete e-cigs and you can buy it for 29 pounds in UK Cloud 9 Vaping - Come in from the cold. That includes VAT. Now where's the steal?

firstly, i didnt say they (riva vs dx cig) were the same. i said the difference in quality between the $70 riva and the $9 dx cig is not worth the difference in cost.

the 501 - the dx model comes with 2 complete cigs (2 atomisers and 2 batteries) look at the pics and read the comments.

and now read the cloud9 website:

Please Note:
Our 510 hardware is SLB-made and we feel it is equal to, if not superior to original Joyetech equipment.

so theirs isn't even from joye either! it's a "knock off" as you put it.

Btw mammoth the Riva is at 42,50 at cloud9 . Also i don't think the Riva is a knockoff. It is not Joye but seems to be damn fine.

Speaking about Joye products: there are only very few Chinese wholesalers that offer Joye products (less than 3 or 4) but you can get quotes from a few dozens that will state they have Joye products and even name them as JOYE 510. Some offer prices as low as 15 dollars for a Joye 510 kit.

For 30 dollars it is possible to get a a Joye 510 so with free shipping on DX it is better than most wholesale prices. If thats a Joye 510 kit, i'll buy you a beer.

cheers man but i already snatched a riva from LF for £38.50 using their 10% discount google link.

are you sure that joye don't just sell their 501 design to other companies for rebranding? it seems strange that there would be so many "illegal" clones of an electronic cigarette. and you're right, if official joye products are so hard to come by then i guess it's unlikely to be an official joye product on DX either, but if it works fine compared the official joye 501 then i'm not fussed. most people who have bought it seem to think it's legit so it must be alright at least. i'll write up something about it when it arrives anyway - it left DX today so should be about a week or so.

but neither are most of the others... let's just wait and see if it's any good.

My point exactly. Usually when one refers to a 510 it means Joye 510.
You could be pleased with other 510 models. But prices differ at source, so it is reflected on resellers.

My point is: a company that sells a Joye 510 is bound to sell that kit at a higher price. You can't blame them for that.

You can get a Joye 510 a little bit over $30 US plus shipping (with a 6 month warranty).

Other good 510 kits are SLB and BE.

When you mention in your OP that you have found suppliers selling the same kit, you must make sure it is the same kit. I don't think any UK suppliers (the good ones) sell any 510 that is not Joye, SLB or BE.

But there are some other 510's out there at ridiculous prices... I have seen a "510" kit for $ 13 US on Alibaba...
