Wow! I didn't know these are already available.

So which do you guys think are better? Ones from Great Lakes or Vapage?

Any review about battery life?

;-)

I can't speak to the Vmod, but the 5 volt GLV 2 & 3 are rated and considered one of the best PV's on the market. They come with a lifetime warranty. That's the direction I would take.

You're not going to get two days of battery life from either! :)

The full Vmod kit with batts and charger is $84.15 after the discount...free shipping.
It's a nice device and works well.

The full GLV-3 is is $195 for the regular sized unit, with no batts and charger.

They both work well, but the materials are different.

I'll try both then. Seems the GLV is more pocketable in size. I'm not sure whether the batteries are permanently attached or removable. If they're removable, I can then buy couple of batteries. Battery life is then solved and I can bring one or two spares with me when traveling.

I prefer tank systems. I'm pleased that these are modified tank systems. Am I correct?

Anyways, I'd be reviewing these things tonight and see some of the reviews.

If I was going juice feed and not wood I would just get a Reo (especially if price wasn't a consideration)

It just has a good reputation as a rock solid juice feeder, the Vmod is cool but everyone is always trying to mod it so it doesn't leak and it uses proprietary atty's (yes they are priced right but I hate proprietary). The GLV3 just looks like a pain to refill (and messy)

The GLV is not very pocket friendly.
It's large and heavy.

The Vmod isn't much larger than a Bic lighter.

Kind of like this but smaller (though of course 10ml bottle will dictate the size a bit.)

scubadattan has a pretty cool ....thing...he put together for use in with a tank.

this GLV is really a neat design. kinda has the shape of a soft pack of analogs with one sticking out the top. It will probably be my next mod

Thanks for the review video of the GLV. While I like the looks and what I believe would be the feel of the GLV I would not have the patience for the refilling. I had planned on getting one for XMas, but may have to rethink it now. For the money it should be cleaner (easier) to refill... JMHO

Right now, I am still using the original cartridges that came with my kit. I have to refill about once every 45min, but it is easy. I am looking at cartos, but do not like having to refill with a syringe that has to puncture a rubber seal - a leak waiting to happen and do not want to have to carry a syringe every where I travel. I have been watching that syringe mod and have an idea with a screw top for refilling and may see if I can make something work with that, but for now I am sticking with my basic Joye 510 Ego and be happy...

Hi guys,

I'll most likely go with the V-MOD. This is the type I'd like to travel around with. I'm not a fan of long, huge screwdriver types that hold nothing more than a huge battery. I'm sure I'll be more comfortable holding a box-type e-cig just a bit bigger than a lighter.

Now the reviewer I found here suggests that you change the batteries with 2 IFR 250s to double the voltage which is 3.7v and stack them like flashlight batteries. The reason being a 2.8 ohm / 3.7 v will not going to give you the vapor production you desire. So I'm also ordering a pair of IFR batteries or two from another site, which is mentioned in the video.

the standard size is pretty easy to fill IMO

The 6v option will only last you an hour or two between charges. The best 3.7v option is using the AW IMR 14500. It is the only 3.7v 14500 battery capable of putting out sufficient power for a LR atty or carto.

If you want pocket friendly, easy to use, no muss and fuss, bottom feeder, get a REO Mini. Slightly bigger than a Zippo: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...mily-photos-storage-ideas-28.html#post3092464

I am looking for a mod that gives me the same power as my pass thru, but am rather limited right now as to how much I can spend, any ideas? I don't want to spend a lot of money just to be dissapointed...

I got an Old Goat non bottom feeder 5 volt mod for 25 bucks. Batteries extra at $4.20 each from Madvapes. I use two Trustfire 3.7 14500 batteries in the mod. My passthrough is a 5 volt so I wanted something cheap that would work as well as that. The Old Goat mod works better. It's a regulated 5 volt and I'm thinking the passthrough is not quite 5 volts. I don't have a meter to put on it.

Today I want looking at tube mods and I agree with the Op in many respects. The Mod Database website only has an 80 dollar VV tube type mod as the cheapest. MadVapes and a few others make a VV in a box mod style for 35 bucks.

My question is why can't anyone take the same parts used for the DIY VV or VV box mod and put them into a plastic tube? You could have a good cheap tube type VV for 35 bucks that's not a box.

Heck, even making tubes from cut pipes are dirt cheap. I see no reason why the cheapest has to be 80 bucks. You have less than 20 dollars in parts from how i see it. Mind you I am talking a generic tube type VV mod, nothing super fancy, just like the box mods are.
