Hello peeps!

I have decided as next month is my birthday I'm gona treat myself to not 1, but 2 new toys for me to play with! :D - but I need some help...

I currently use an SVD with a nautilus which is serves me well, but I want to give mechanical mods a go so I'm giving it to my little brother to get him off the cigs.

For the 1st set up I wana use it for my all day vape with as much flavour as possible, and just a nice hit in general as this'll be my cig substitute. At the moment i'm thinking a KFL is the way to go as I've seen comments on the great taste from them, but I've also read they make hardly any clouds - this isn't essential but I would like a little something like at least what the nautilus can do - any alternative or even better suggestions?

For the 2nd set up I just wana cloud chase! I don't care if the flavour isn't as intense, as long as it doesn't taste bad. I have no interest in vaping below 1ohm yet (still reading, watching and learning), and I'm happy with the limitations that gives me. I have been looking at a Trident V2 clone, but again, I'm hoping to be enlightened

Oh yeah, I'm not a rich guy so it is clones i'm looking at, though I might splash out if something really does give an above and beyond performance over a clone...

Will consider ANYTHING, tanks, RBAs/drippers, hybrids and the rest, as long as the end result is ↑

I know a lot of my vape experience will be down to my build, but i'd imagine a good starting point for both requirements would be some good quality kit

Tanks :vapor:

Kayfun Lite is definitely good for being on the go, that's what I use. Dripping is my lounging time. Can't go wrong with a Nemesis clone, however, if you can get your hands on it, the Stingray is much preferred for me. Chi-You clones are also pretty good.

As far as drippers... The Atomic clone and the Nimbus are brilliant in my opinion. Never been a fan of the Trident

That is false..I own few of them, clones, and authentic...I replace my default drip tip with standard bore size drip tip, and get plenty of vape, I'm sure other KFL owners can chime in. But I also use my KFL on mechanical mods.

If you don't care about intense flavor, and want clouds...get the HCigar Omega clone...I think worms and proton from youtube did a review on this RDA, but I do care about flavor, then clouds...so I went with Trident V2 clone..by Ehpro...works great..

"I have no interest in vaping below 1ohm", build your coils according to you can still use your SVD...you won't get Mega Godzilla clouds, but it should be still decent til you do more research on what device you want to use , 20 watter+ regulated or mech mod.

Its not terribly true that kayfuns make terrible vapor production. But if you want the best of both worlds, try genesis style rebuildable!
There is a steeper learning curve with them, working with ss mesh or ss rope, or the auto dripper route with cotton, but to me it is worth it...
Look into the RSST, kraken, pulse, or Prometheus. You won't be disappointed.

How experienced are you at coil building?

If you're new to building coils then I would suggest an Igo-L before you go for a Trident or any other more complicated RDA.

I have a Trident V2, and while it is an excellent RDA, it's not the easiest thing in the world to work with. The deck is sort of small which means you have little excess room to work with. You've got to get your builds nice and tight, using the least amount of room possible. It's great once you've got the skills to work with it, but it can be a real PITA to learn on. It's also a dual coil RDA and single coil builds don't work well with it, so you've got to be good at dual coil setups to get the most out of it.

The Igo-L is cheap, has a large deck, and is single coil. Learn to build one really well before you jump into dual coil builds. Another advantage of the Igo-L is any coil build that you find you really like can be easily transferred to the KFL. The KFL is setup primarily for single coil builds and requires a lot more skill to do dual coil setups with it.

As far as KFL vapor production goes, that's simply a matter of the coil build. It's taken me probably a half dozen different builds, but I finally found one that rivals my Aerotank for vapor production, and the flavor is far, FAR better.

I'm not too experienced, I have rebuilt a few coils for my aerotank that's about as far as my experience goes, but i'm a quick learner and don't think i will struggle too much. I am loving the sound of the KFL, my aerotank has great flavour, so if it is far, FAR better I think i'll go for this for my all day vape setup, now I just need to look into some of these suggestions for a cloud making set up.

Thanks pal!

Though I can still use my SVD, with the coils I plan to use until i'm more educated and confident in sub-ohm building, vaping and safety, as I said I am going to give this to my little bro as I want him off the cigs too, he's only a stupid kid.

Besides, mech mods look so much better then most electronic devices in my opinion, so this is definitely the road i'll take, for now (this journey is fun but tiring!)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm gona take a look at the omega now.

Compared to the Nautilus, the Kayfun puts out tremendous clouds. Don't get me wrong, the Nautilus is one fine intermediate changeable head atomizer, probably none better in it's class, but the kayfun. Russian, Flash-e-Vapor V2, are rba's. Once you learn the art of re-building, you'll never go back to a changeable. I have the full Russian and love it. Currently vaping it at 30 watts, plenty of vape and flavor. If going for a clone, the Hcigar line are some of the best. My Fave is the Flashi, it can be used as a dripper or a tank system. Easy to fill and build and provides a tremendous vape.

Great builds don't happen over night, takes some time patience and practice to be competent. Also having an ohm meter is a must. And you don't need a mech to drive an rba, a decent regulated will get you started on the rba path and get you well trained up.

If you do go mech, the Hcigar Nemesis clone is one of the best out there. Was my first mech. One has to keep in mind that with a mech, you only have the volts available from the battery, so it will be the ohms of you build that will determine the watts vaped at. Also must have good batteries, the Sony VTC4 30 amp, and the Efest Purple 35 amp 18650 batteries are both fine choices. Also you are the only safety feature that comes with a mech so battery knowledge, care and a working aptitude of ohms law is a must.

Vape long and Prosper!!!

Thanks for the info! :thumb: This is the reason I im not going to bother with sub-ohms anytime soon, i was planning on grabbing myself a kick and a safety switch and build 1.5s until i get the full grasp of it, it's pretty easy rebuilding aerotank heads so i think i will be able to get the hang of it. I'll have a look at those rbas now thanks mate
