IMO, I wish I started cloudchasing with 24g. Way easier to work with than 30g or 28 without torching, and I don't like torching kanthal.

As for batteries, I tell people better safe than sorry, so If you can find Sony VTC series batteries (VTC3, VTC4, VTC5), better stock up on a few, because Sony doesn't make them anymore. (Sony got mad because people vaped with their batteries.) Besides Sony batteries, MNKE 30A batteries are decent, although slightly overpriced. At least they're reliable. DO NOT let anyone tell you that the purple Efest 35A batteries are good. They aren't. They are actually 20A batteries rebranded as 35A batteries.

Be safe and happy vaping! As usual, no pipe bombs please. :2cool:

The LG he2s (and therefore the purple Efest 2500 mAh as well) ARE really good batteries, easily competing with and even outperforming the vtc5s at 20 amps. They aren't 35 amp batteries, that's true, but to say that they aren't good isn't correct.

Since you're new, maybe you should start with the basic builds and not just jump to the extremes (and cloud chasing is the extreme).

0.45mm Kanthal is somewhere between 26 and 24AWG.
I wouldn't start so low as a beginner, 28 is good to start with.

Wrong kind of battery.
Only IMR only 30 Amp rating or more (10 is fine if not for sub Ohm).

OK so I realize the OP's title is confusing...but on page 1 we established that cloud chasing is not what he was looking to do. He wants more vapor production...outside of that I am in full agreement with what you have said.

Although in this case I would recommend a regulated mod with a Kayfun, since he is actually not planning on low sub ohms...you can guess that my favorite would be a Provari...but an eleaf istick might work well too.
