I'm very new to vaping. So new that I haven't even received my first ecig yet! Last weekend, before finding this wonderful forum, I went ahead and ordered an Apollo Extreme Starter Kit. It was just shipped on Monday, so I haven't received it yet and didn't even know about possible issues I could have with Canada Customs and Nicotine. I did things backwards. I'm not gonna sweat it, though. I'll use it until I figure out my next step.

Which brings me to ask my questions about the Happy eGo and the Go-Go and any of your experiences with these particular two devices.

What I'm looking for? Long battery life, easy to use (refill, ect...), easy to draw and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Yeah, a bit shallow, but hey, this thing is going to be my constant companion for a while, might as well look good. Getting replacement bits and bobs easily and within Canada is another plus. I would also like opinions on tanks vs. carts. Thanks very much.

I started with the Happy eGo. I bought tanks with it as well. I thought to myself this would be great. Fill the tank and that's it, I'm good to go for the day. I didn't have any issues with it from an operation standpoint. It vaped as it should. It didn't leak. The draw was constant (if a little stiff - but this may be a personal preference). I went away from tanks and started dripping. Me, I prefer dripping over all other methods. Works best for me.

For your requirements:

Batt life: I smoked about 12cigs/day. So the 650 mAh batt lasted me the entire day and then some.

Easy to use: I didn't have any problems with the tank system. I didn't care much for carts. Seemed too much effort for too little reward. It may be for you. That being said, the tank was easy to deal with. Never had any problem with it.

Easy draw: Looking back, I think the draw on the tank was stiff. As stated, I prefer dripping, so my view may be skewed.

Aesthetics: This is a personal choice. Looks fine to me.

Replacement parts: They are a dime a dozen. Easy to find replacements bits for everything.

Further options: If you do like the "sustainability" the tank gives you, I'd suggest you get some cartomizers. They work better than tanks. Easy to fill. And flavor is better.

Get backups to everything once you figure out what you like (be it tanks/ carts/ cartos/ dripping).

Good luck to you.

Hello !
First off grats on the jump to ecigs! I got my first esmoke 5 months ago and havent smoked since :). Id go with the eGo for 3 reasons.

One : Almost every supplier in canada offers parts for it.

Two : You will experience long battery life with the 650/900/1000mah bats and its very simple to use.

Three: With the joytech eGo, you can try Carts you can Drip AND you can use the tank system. I suggest trying all of them, then you can figure out what works best for you.

Personally i drip wile i'm at home ALL the time, i find it gives me better flavour and a more satisfying hit, but @ work i use the tank so i don't need to carry a bottle around.

Also a heads up if your buying parts for it over the border, if the price is way to good to be true, make sure it is authentic joytech.

Hope your vaping experince is as good as mine!

Cheers,
Justin.

Thanks 4mehealth and The0n3. I've been doing a lot of reading today and the eGo seems to be my best choice. It seems as though I read about alot of ecig users preference to drip. I don't know if it is for me, but now that I've made my decision as to which ecig to buy as my main, I'm going to make sure to try all the alternatives that the system offers. Won't know till I try! :D Appreciate the advice about buying parts over the border and making sure they're authentic. Didn't think of that. Thanks. I want to try and buy as much from Canada as I can and keep our suppliers in business. :D

with the ego stuff, you can use so many different types of atty, carto etc. you can use plain 510 stuff, ego, ego t, ego carts etc etc. so many choices.

I still use an ego t often. when I go to a bar or something like that, I have an 1100 mah battery and can toss an extra filled tank in my pocket and go out and not worry for the night. I love my boge rev2 for work but the battery life sucks and I need to have to near a usb connection or the battery dies (it died at last vape meet).

    in a cave, eh?
I have no experience with the Go Go. I hear great things about it, though. It'll give you a warmer vape than the eGo (I believe it's 4.2 volts unloaded) and holds lots of juice. Main drawback is the connector is non-standard. There is a US vendor who sells 510 adapters for it, but they're not cheap. The other drawback is some people find the large mouthpiece uncomfortable. You can adapt a cigar whistle tip for it, though.

CdnVapor.ca sells the Echo 1300 mAh system. Performance and capacity-wise, it's similar to the Go Go. It's slimmer and a little longer. The threads are 808-compatible, so it's easy to get an adapter for all kinds of accessories. It's an automatic. If you want to play around with dripping, etc. consider supplementing that system with a 5 volt USB passthrough, USB wall adapter, 510 atomizers and 510 drip tips. I've been sourcing those parts from MadVapes (US vendor).

Happy Vaper is a good source for all kinds of "bits and bobs". NicFitNation is also a good source of all kinds of Joye 510 and eGo accessories. NicFitNation charges a flat rate of $8.00 for XpressPost, if that helps.

If you're going eGo, the eGo-T battery with the 5-push shutoff system is nice even if you go with cartomizers and an Ego cone (basically an eGo setup with the eGo-T battery). The standard eGo battery doesn't have that shutoff. If you're interested in a tank, just be aware that some people have a problem with leaks and that you won't get much flavour out of them unless you go with low-resistance tank atomizers. Again, you might want to look at the options NicFitNation gives you for customizing a kit.

You can't go wrong with the eGo, and the guys at Happy Vaper are awesome. I received my eGo from them two days after ordering it, and then got some assistance via email when I was having some issues.

I've been using it for two weeks, and most days it lasted me through the day, and I was a pack a day smoker. For the two or three days I actually got through the battery, I just popped the second one on and was good to go.

If you don't want the hassle of constantly messing with it while you're out, I would go with either cartomizers, or the type B atomizer and tank system. I switched up to the tanks a week ago, and haven't looked back. I'm vaping about a tank and a half/day, so I have to keep a spare filled tank in my pocket.

Once you see if PV's will work for you, then you can decide if you want to look at mods. They are a little more pricey, but it's a whole other experience :)

Whichever you decide to go with, good luck, and I hope it works for you!

The Go-Go is my go to.

I use the 808 Volt out in public, but when I vape at home or in the car, it's my Go-Go. Great consistency vape after vape. My cartos last all day without re-filling and the batteries last for two days. Cartos are cleanable too. I have a couple that have lasted well over 3 weeks without tossing.

Thanks so much for your imput, everyone! I really appreciate it. I'm leaning more towards the eGo and cartomizers because they're more readily available to me. I'm also going to explore and try all the options, from dripping to tanks, etc...and see what's right for me. As for Happy Vaper...well, I've been squatting on his site adding and removing things from my cart all day. lol

I've been thinking all day about which eGo to get. I really like the Happy eGo because it comes in pretty colours. (Told you I'm shallow) and Happy Vaper carries everything I need and is a hop, skip and a jump from me, so I can pick up my orders...but I have been looking at the eGo-T. The one thing holding me back on that (and it may seem silly) is the A, B thing is very confusing to me. I need simple. I had to stop playing video games when they went beyond a joystick. It's too much for me. I may decide to add it to my arsenal later on, though. When I gain more confidence. ;)

Isn't there some kind of plastic piece you can snap over the battery button to help prevent it from accidentally being pressed? I know I saw it somewhere, but I can't find it now. I'm sure it exists!

For the price, I get my battery and cartos from phatclouds.ca, even before he had the site hehe. doesn't have a ton of stock but what he does have is some of the best prices. all my smaller batteries are gone. 1100 mah lasts me a long long time. haha those stupid button protectors. I played with them. dam thing spun on top the button and fired the full whatever 7 seconds I believe. dam thing got hot in my pocket. the newer ego batteries have a multi button tap to turn it on and off to prevent missfire.

Yes. The Happy eGo starter kit comes with two eGo-T batteries. If you press the button 5 times in two seconds, it will flash, and turn off. When you want to turn it back on again, do it again. I've also come across some snap on plastic pieces to physically cover the button on a different site (can't remember which atm...), but I don't think they're necessary with the newer batteries.

I think the only difference between the A and B types is size. The B tanks have a larger capacity. I don't think it's possible to mix both types. Just make sure you check the right box when ordering :)

It looks like the Happy Ego kit comes with a eGo-T battery if you order it in Black, Blue, Titanium or White. If you go with the standard eGo battery (possibly in a different colour), you can find a plastic button protector to keep the button from firing. There is a shutoff on the standard battery that prevents it from firing longer than (I think) 10 seconds, anyway.

I'm a Go-GO user and I couldn't be more happier...I was about to get the e-go, but after all I read about leaky tanks and the cool vape..I went with the GO-GO all my carts are still working like the 1st time (over a month now) They are super easy to clean and work really well with VG. They are now sell adapters so it's even better. :)
The main thing is quitting the analogs :)

Ego is definatley the way to go for me. Low Rez 510 cartomizers with a drip tip( for easier filling, not for dripping ) hassle free, and cheap from Greenhouse One | Electronic Cigarettes | Atomizers | Eliquid lr cartos for a buck a piece and ego-t kits for 49.99
Edit: they have gogo kits and cargos I think as well.

Thanks again for all the advise, everyone. I can't tell you how much it helps me. I think I'm going to go with the eGo because of its versatility. I'm going to try the new tank method and also get cartomizers, drip tips and the like!

DemonCleaner: Thanks for that tip on using a drip tip for easier filling. I like that!

I'm still waiting on the Apollo Extreme Kit that I ordered last week. Once again, I ask for everyone's advise. :) Should I return it for a refund? I need to pay for it (credit card) before I can go ahead and buy my eGo equipment. On the one hand, I want to keep it to see what it's like to vape! lol On the other hand, I'm obviously going to spend another poop load of cash on another ecig that will be my mainstay. Decisions, decisions...

I like having multiple units myself. then I can grab a different flavour easy. that and you will find different setups make juices taste different. the thing about this hobby is it's all about taste. I like black coffee with sugar, some like cream, some like both and some hate coffee. having options is a good thing, hardware and juices, until you find your own vaping nirvana

and get out to a local vape meet so you can try out other juices, equipment, even just to see things in person and meet people. your experience will be even better
