I've heard that China is really big on PVs - after all, it's where most of them come from, right?

I posted in the travel thread a few weeks ago but nobody answered any of my questions, so I thought I would ask here. :)

1. How "safe" is juice from China?

2. Can I take my juice w/nic TO China? (I'm a little unclear on the actually legality of possessing nic juice, or a filled cartridge tbh)

3. Any specific hardware I should be looking for? I've heard they have big shops of e cig stuff and we'll be on the mainland so it should be pretty cheap!

4. If I'm bringing back juice and/or hardware, can that get seized at the border because I'm importing it?

5. How do you claim it? Juice is not technically a tobacco product, and are e-cigs considered 'electronics'?

6. I know I can bring my PV on the flight, as long as I don't use it. I don't want to get in trouble, but I'm a bit nervous about the 13+ hour flight. Would it be safe to, say, put a drop of juice directly on my tongue or finger?

7. Has anyone been to China? We're going to Hong Kong, Macau, ZhongShan, and some points in between. Anything I should look for specifically e-cig wise or any advice on getting good prices if I don't speak Chinese? (I will be with either native speakers of 2nd language speakers the whole time)

Lots of questions, sorry. But I'm excited! Part of the reason I got into vaping was because I didn't want all the hassle that smoking while travelling brings. And it turns out that China seems to be where it's at!

1. I've had no issues with my juice from China. I'd stick to Dekang or Hangsen, though.
2. Not sure. I would suspect so. The consulate should be able to provide an answer.
3. Well, what do *you* want? ;-) I'd say browse and enjoy the low prices.
4. Juice with nic - yes. It's listed as a controlled substance, so customs can take it on the way back. Hardware (as of this writing) is ok.
5. I'd go with "electronic parts".
6. Yeah, but I'd say take gum and the patch instead. Stealth vaping is likely possible, but I wouldn't recommend testing the smoke detectors on an overseas flight. Also, depending on the airline, vaping *may* be allowed.
7. I haven't been, no. Just read an article at Reddit, though, on how foreigners are not exactly favoured. Look for where the locals shop, and maybe bring someone along to translate.

Have fun!

I have found that the lozenges from nicorette are the best. I get ~2 hrs off 1 @ 4 mg lozenge with no problems. Enjoy your trip :)

Thanks for the answers. I'm excited but also very scared of airplanes. I think the losenges will be a good idea - I can just spit them out if I start feeling spinny.

So... If I take juice with nic TO China, could they seize it on the way BACK? I might have to order some of my favourites while I'm there so it will be waiting for me when I get home, just in case. :S

Has anyone had their juice/hardware seized at Canada customs?

Has anyone had their juice/hardware seized at Canada customs?

There was a thread awhile back where a person mentioned going to the states and buying around 300ml Of juice only to have their vehicle search comming back. The poster got lucky and had a Canadian customs officer that was familiar with vaping and let him through with a warning.

I think if you keep it under a couple hundred ml you should be OK.

....and if I remember the customs form I filled out on the way back it specifically asked if you were bringing any alcohol or cigarettes back......

Remember you're not doing anything illegal. If you do buy a PV or juice just add that into the total of goods purchased .
