I do think calling it an electronic cigarette is a bit misleading. Most people think of the little cigalikes and WOW! they blow up?

Man.. I feel for anyone whose been hurt by this but people should have researched what they were using... "hybrid top caps" are $&!%in dangerous if you don't take careful precautions and it's no little known fact... at the same time certain vendors that are doing giant wholesale orders of hybrid style mechs or adapters should consider more fool proof options.. However careless or idiotic they may be, people make mistakes and we should protect them if possible with better designed products that don't need these things..
It isn't that mechanical mods are not safe, when used correctly, it isn't idiot proof. When I say idiot, I mean someone that has no clue of the impact of a direct short on a battery with that much stored energy.
The one thing 90% of the new vapors should have is a device that won't fire with a direct short - problem solved while the people who know what they are doing can enjoy the hobby safely.

He intentionally set himself up to be a victim.
Not everything in life is meant for everyone.
Kids today "don't have time" to learn how these devices operate.
They are "YouTube educated" and can't wait to jump on the latest cool thing.
Just dumb on many levels.
It's the false sense of entitlement stemming from a society that gives everyone a trophy.
