Extra flavor from MBV. Did I mess up?

Hi everyone. I'm new to vaping and can't seem to find that juice that fills my mouth with taste. I just quit smoking a pack a day so I'm guessing my taste buds are fried. So today I ordered some juice from mount baker Vapor. I got hawk sauce, moo juice, blackberry, and cotton candy. All 50/50, 15 ml size bottles, and I added 3 drops of extra flavor to each.
Now I've been reading that extra flavor might make the juice perfumy? I hope I haven't made a bad decision here. I'm just finding that regular off the shelf ejuice just lacks taste to me. Too muted or weak.
Thoughts?

Hello! I can say cotton candy defiantly needs flavor shots I dudnt add any and it tasted lie nothing i even let it steep for a month and still got nothing! To me hawk sauce was good as is and it needed no steeping. I cant help u with the others sorry. I also put in a order yesterday I gave 2 of them a extra shot so ill have to wait and see how they turn out.

Moo Juice needs some time to steep before it really opens up flavor wise, but take that with a grain of salt mine is 100% VG

I'm like you, I like strong flavor. I don't want a hint of the flavor, I want it so I can really taste it. I think you'll be fine with 3 extra shots of flavor. I've ordered a few times from MBV and always get at least 2 shots, sometimes I would have liked more.

MBV juices pretty much always need to steep for a few weeks at least. If you try them right away you may or may not like them. If they're perfumey, take the caps off for a day or 2 and put them in a cool dark place. Give them a good shake every day or so and try them again at a later date. I have Moo Juice with 2 extra shots...3 would have been better. I think you'll be glad you got extra flavor.

I will say that some flavors will need extra and some don't. I don't think they really have the flavor shot thing down yet. I guess when you create a certain flavor, you enjoy it at a specific intensity and depth, and when you start adding more flavoring, it changes the whole balance. I got mango with extra flavor about a month ago, and it is.. without a doubt the worst juice I have. It's so chemical and perfumey tasting, not at all like a mango.
NOW, on the other hand, I also ordered some teaberry with extra flavor, and it's a pretty darn good vape, so I really think it depends on the flavor. With all of the customizability these days, sometimes a really great tasting juice can taste like garbage once you change everything about it that made it good to begin with. But that's just my $0.02

I would not worry in the slightest - I have multiple MBV juices with 2 and 3 shots and have never noticed a "perfume" taste. Even straight after getting them in the mail.

you might try cutting the juice with unflavored. i had some flavors that didnt wick well so i added some pg and the flavor came alive for me. i have started cutting all my flavors since and it works on most. some get light so its not for all flavors. i have read in diy threads that too much flavor can mute taste. another trick is to inhale with your nose open since most taste is from smell

I get most of mine with 1 or two shots. I'd say your fine but it can certainly depend on the particular flavor and even more importantly your particular taste. It doesn't take much. I've got some juices I love at 50/50 and can't hardly stand at at 80/20. It doesn't take much to completely change a juices taste.

Ususally when I get a juice I have never tried I always get 0 shots and if I like it I go from there. Hawk Sauce and all of the lemonade flavors to me seem like they need no extra shots. MBV menthol flavors are usually strong on the menthol (esp the Ice Line!) so be careful with those kind of flavors.

Since this is your first order I will tell you dont fall into the theory that if you order a larger bottle it needs more shots. I called and verified.
1x shot on a 30ml will get the same % as 1x shot on a 236ml bottle.

Ive gotten a few flavors from MBV and the only one that, IMO, was vapable outta the mail was double apple with 2 shots. 50/50 18mg. Dam great flavor with a kicking after taste. Everything else has been in the cabinet for a while waiting to see if they come around to my flavor tastes. But then again, everyones tastes are different.

I'm currently vaping Mudslide with two extra shots and it's good right away. I haven't read anything about ALL flavors being perfume-y, just some and after steeping they mellow out.

I think you will be okay. My wife ordered a 256ml bottle of Cinnamon Roll from them with 5 (yes FIVE) extra drops. It was really okay - mainly her vape, not mine, but I tried it on several occasions and it was actually okay. She loved it.

Did you try juices from other vendors yet? The base for MBV juices might not suit your taste buds.

I have samples from freedom smoke USA. I like some flavors, I just wish they were stronger on the flavor. Is it possible to feel like I'm sucking on a jolly rancher? Probably not, but I want some good strong flavor.

You did not mention if you have ordered from MBV before you placed this order or not. There is a difference not only between 'off the shelf' e-juices and mixed on order or a vendors created e-juice and from vendor to vendor. I order a great deal from MBV and while I have had the same problem you have with 'flavor' lacking with other e-juices I have not hasa to have extra shots (which is a percent according to size of flavor added not a drop of flavor added necessarily).

there are several favors that can make a difference in how a flavor tastes or how the flavor comes through besides the flavor and the amount used - such as the PG/VG ratio and the level of nicotine you get. Also, what might be too perfumy can also depend on the flavor - some have no 'perfume' essentially to them. As for the 'perfumy smell or taste - I have found that not to be the cause of extra flavoring but not giving the juice time to steep.

MBV mixes your e-juice on the day they ship it to you usually (the mix date will be on the label) so make sure you check the packaging material in the information they give you about steeping different flavors - such as fruity flavors needing a longer steep time than others and so on. Often the 'perfume' odor many complain about happens with flavors that have not steeped long enough for the juice to mature and balance out. Unless I order a fruit based e-juice I usually just shake up my bottles and place them in a cool dark cabinet for a week or two after I have gotten them - I usually go a bit longer of the fruity ones.

You may find out that 3 shots extra was just what you needed but don't be turned off if the flavor is too strong for you and give MBV a better chance by trying a juice with no extra flavor or only 1 shot depending on how the ones you ordered came out for you. If you someone who likes a strong flavor you may very well be happy with your extra shots - just let them sit the needed time first.
