New York (no, not the city)
I wanted to bring up and discuss a side-effect that I've noticed in myself since I started vaping, just over three weeks ago.

Background: I was a lightweight smoker, doing no more than half a pack of Camel Lights a day (closer to a pack a week at the end). I am also lightweight in general; at 5'10" and 125-130 lbs with a very high metabolism. I can eat literally as much of anything that I want and frequently do so. I also drink prodigious amounts of coffee and sometimes water.

Once I started vaping I did start drinking a lot more water, since my wife insisted that I should be doing so anyways. My knees have been rather sore lately but they're in horrid shape anyways, so I'm not sure if that has to do with the PG metabolism or not. But...I've found that I now have a gnawing, dull ache in my stomach all the time. Not something I've really had before (except years ago when I suffered from depression and would sit in bed and hardly eat anything for weeks at a time). I feel like I'm always hungry! And I snack all the time. I'll eat half a pizza...a bag of Doritos...half a loaf of bread with a jar of peanut butter...an apple...a banana...while vaping between eating...and the hungry never really subsides. Now, it's not so bad since I really should gain some weight anyways, but this seems a bit odd to me (and it doesn't seem like I actually have gained any).

Mine isn't as intense as yours but Ive definitely noticed an increase in hunger around mealtimes. I tend to eat just one meal a day and a snack - I work nights so my metabolism kinda got a bit messed up anyways and I used to smoke the rest of the time  I always drank a lot, usually juice, ginger ale (no alcohol, I don't have the head for it anymore) and love my coffee too. I ate a 'dinner' type evening meal before work then maybe a snack around halway thru shift; always something small. If I got really hungry I just smoked and it went away, and yes I was a small person too. Pretty light /underweight for my height, but not TOO skinny or anything.
Now around the time Id usually have hte snack I get really hungry and vaping isnt quashing the feeling the way smoking did. I still vape to avoid oversnacking and that works but hungry..yeah I can ignore it but I still FEEL it.
Im pretty sure smoking does weird things to our metabolisms, and I now have a thyroid thing goin on which adds to it, but since I quit smokes for vaping, I do notice a difference. And Ive put on weight which Im not happy about (but I havent been working out either so I guess thats a major factor lol)

Ohhhh, yeah! Definitely happening here! I'm on day 16 analog-free, and ravenous! Maybe not so good, but my nutritional status when I smoked 3 packs a day probably wasn't great, either.

The GOOD NEWS! Hubby is also ravenous. He's 5'8" and should weigh about 145-150 in fighting trim. Last year has lost 15 or 20lbs. and resembles a skeleton. (Has been worked up by docs, lab work, colonoscopy, pulmonary function all normal. 63 years old and takes NO meds.) He's eating like a lumberjack after a week off the analogs. He's a grouchy old s.o.b. all of a sudden, but if he gains some weight back I'll put up with it.

I have always understood that a side affect of quitting the analogs is increased appetite.
I guess I just want to believe that what you are noticing is attributed to the cessation of smoking and not to ingredients involved in the juice we use for this great alternative to smoking.
On the other hand, if it turns out that a healthier appetite is related to vaping and not just to quitting smoking, I'm good with that. It beats the heck out of the side effects of sticking with the nasties.
Interesting topic, thanks for bringing it up!

Nicotine is supposed to be a mild appetite suppressant so I can only make the link that Im not getting the same amount of nic - OR its not affecting me in the same way that smoking did. Maybe the alkaloids in tobacco (rather than nicotine itself) are more of an appetite suppressant than was previously thought?
I dont attribute any of the increased hunger pangs to the juice I'm using - imo it is SOLEY linked to smoking cigarettes (or not smoking them in my case as I'm cig free for a month now).

Cig's always suppressed my appetite. But when I started vaping with straight Dekang PG juices I noticed my appetite was no longer being suppressed.

As I got more and more into vaping I was mixing juices with glycerine purely for the vaping pleasure. And one day I happened to notice that my appetite was being suppressed again.

Now switching to a straight PG mix will fully disclose my hunger while VG will suppress it. This may be related to the blood sugar from glycerine that some diabetics have reported.

Well I am not any more hungry, but when I get hungry I have really bad hunger pangs. Like I am starving. But I only get them right before meals. After I am good to go till the next meal about 4 hours between.
