Anyone experience eye dryness and irritation from vaping? It may be coincidence, but since I started vaping, I have experienced dry eyes and irritation, perhaps from the exhaled vapor lurking around and getting into my eyes? I went to an eye doctor and he confirmed I have dry eye syndrome. I vape darker eliquids, usually a 50-50 pg/vg and produce quite bit of vapor.

Like I said, it may not be related at all, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I know it's recommended that you should drink plenty of fluids because of potential dehydration, which I try to do.

Must be only Tennessee people having this issue. Over the past months I have been having this issue also. For the past few days I have switched to EcoPure, which is all VG and the symptoms seem to be getting better. And I am certain I drank enough water while vaping with PG. Time will tell more. If it goes away completely, I will go back to the PG juice i had been using to see if it begins to return. I started vaping with Johnson Creek and American Eliquid Store all VG and never had this issue. Then I bought some Totally Wicked Patriot range, then some Halo, and the eye dryness began. Still don't know for sure what caused it, but I am on all VG EcoPure right now and will report back if it goes away completely. A few days ago I bought 50 ml of Dekang Desert Ship and I love this juice, but if it is PG, I don't believe Dekang makes this flavor in all VG.

Yes, I have experienced this since I started vaping. My eyes are almost always red and irritated.
I use moisturizing eye drops and they do help.

Yes, I was getting somewhat dry eyes but maybe more of burning sensation to my eyes when I was vaping PG when I started vaping 3 weeks a go. Now I am fully on 100% VG and Burning eye syndrome went away! :)

Yes, somewhere else on the forum someone said it may not be a reaction to PG or VG, could be a reaction to whatever flavors, ingredients these vendors put in their E-liquids. I guess, one has to order many small sample testers from various reputable vendors.

Dear salemgold, You are a very experienced vaporer and are STILL experiencing red and irritated eyes on a regular basis?...now THAT is sad and not very reassuring indeed. You've read all the tips and advices on these forums, I'm sure and as a newbie, I certainly don't have anything I can tell you that you haven't already heard, but here goes. Have you tried vaping ONLY PG WITHOUT any flavors or ingredients added to your E-liquid? (the same goes for VG) These are tips from Racehorse on the forum. Also did you know that SYSTANE lubricant eye drops CONTAIN Propylene Glycol?...IF PG is the culprit, that specific lubricant may not be helping you much, au contraire! Take care. Mario

I have dry eye syndrome and my tear tucts are plugged with small pieces of silicone to prevent the tears I do have from draining away. Not long after I started vaping, my eyes got much drier and I developed episcleritis, which isn't dangerous but it's ugly and really uncomfortable. (It feels like there's something in your eye and you can't get rid of it.)

My experience has been the same as Callmemario's -- I got rid of PG and things improved, although I usually don't have to worry about the small amount of PG used in flavorings. However, on days when my eyes are really bothering me, I have to stick with 100% VG and go without PG-based flavoring for a while.

Also, drinking more water won't help much if you have really dry eyes. Try an omega-3 supplement that contains fish and/or flaxseed oil. I use TheraTears Nutrition.

Yes, I have vaped every combo imaginable. I also make my own ejuice so I know exactly what is in my liquids. I use an artificial tear drop that does not contain PG. I use a gel that is very good and was given to me by an opthamologist.

Well, I'm glad that you are trying to treat this problem. As for myself, VG solved the problems with the eyes, but I'm still getting headaches each and every time I vape!...It's been over 3 weeks of this, and honestly, I'm getting "a little" tired of this. I am ready to quit, like e-cig and all. Sad, cause I like vaping, but that's the way it is. "C'est la vie!".

Hmmm....that's a drag! If this eye condition of yours stated when you began vaping, look no further. But if it started many months later or more recently, than I would consider some other medical condition. (My opinion, I'm not a MD/Physician).

Steven, is that happening at night while you're sleeping and then you notice it when you wake up in the morning? Or is it happening during the day while you're awake?

If it's happening during the day, you might have an infection so you should probably get it checked out by your eye doctor, just to be on the safe side.

If it's happening while you're asleep, that does sound like dry eyes. Try using an eye gel (like the kind salemgold mentioned) or some artificial tears right before you go to bed and use a humidifier in your bedroom.

Good-luck :)

If you vape non-flavored liquids your headache will probably go away, I had them too in the beginning..so bad it would last for days and i NEVER get headaches.. non-flavored is all i use now
