Fact or Fiction: Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerine are smaller particles than tobacco and lodge deeper in the lungs than tobacco smoke?

Likely smaller than smoke particles, but larger than some of the problem components of cigarette smoke, like CO, which attaches itself to hemoglobin, robbing that molecule of it's docking space for O2 for a period.

Propylene glycol is a fairly large molecule, but probably smaller than smoke particles. On the other hand, it is quickly metabolized by the body, whereas smoke particles are not. It isn't something which accumulates in your lungs over time, like smoke does.

PG is part of the fog is those smoke machine at concerts - you really think they are THAT dangerous that they would allow them to blow over hundereds, or thousands of people at concerts at a time? Not to mention the guys that operate them.
PG is also used in hospital 'misters' - they used them a lot during hte swine flu outbreaks.
I'd say the rumor is unlikely or else things have been skewed to fit current circumstances.
Btw - its also present in cigarettes.

Edit: look here too - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...able-glycerin-vg-polyethylene-glycol-peg.html - approved for use for inhalation is one study.
