So when I decided to do DIY liquids I think I jumped the gun. I ordered 100% VG 12 mg nic theb my flavors were grape, apple, and sour. All flavors were pg. But nothing came out right. Now I have to wit a week for some PG nicotine. I also ordered pg and vg. Right now I'm diluting with distilled water and I'm just not liking the flavors of any. It's all TBA flavoring. If anyone has a suggestion on what I can do or a recipe so I can get thru the week till my other stuff is here

I'll assume you meant TFA/TPA flavorings.
You need more flavors to work with IMO.

Apple is quite mild to me so you may need to go 15-20% to taste anything, but it's not one of their better flavors.
Grape should be good at around 10-12%, but may not be the "type" of grape you want, as most are usually like grape pop or candy.
Forget the Sour until you've got the flavoring percents down to what you like first, then add small amounts, like 1-2 drops.

I use this, and it has some recipes included:eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

Just some of the better TFA flavors:

Blueberry Wild 10%
Orange Cream 10%
Root Beer Float 10%
Vanilla Swirl 1-4% (as an additive)
French Vanilla 1-4% (as additive)
Sweet Cream 1-4% (as an additive)
Brown Sugar Extra .5-2% (additive)
Graham Cracker Clear 1-4% (additive)
Cheesecake (Graham Crust) 1-5% (additive), or +10% (main flavor)
Marshmallow 1-4% (adds some body, moisture, and sweetness)

Stay away from any Cherries, Raspberry, Strawberry, and Chocolates to start out with cause most of them suk IMO.

Not sure what your Recipe was? But to Me, All Fruit Flavors need 2 Things.

1 - All Fruit Flavors need to Steep for at Least 3 Days. Just put it in a Cool, Dark Place and come back on Tuesday.

2 - All Fruit Flavors need some Type of Sweetener. I like to use TFA Sweetener which is Sucralose and PG.

DIY is all about Finding what works Best for You. And Writing Down Exactly what you Did so you can Do It Again.

And for Someone using TFA Fruit Flavors, starting with 6 ~ 10% Total Flavoring is not a Bad Place to Start.

I just got banana ad strawberry from the local store and made 2 ml banana 1 mil straw 7 ml vg nicotine. Pretty good. Wonder if it needs to steep

When you say "Local Store", do you mean a Vape shop? Or a Regular Grocery Store?

Because the Flavorings sold in Grocery Stores should be Avoided. The Many Times have Fillers which Might Not be all that Great to Inhale. And Sugars which might Gum Up your Atomizer Coil.

First of all, you should not be experimenting making juice with nic solution. Make your batches with just plain pg/vg solution first, you save $$ that way.

Make sure you go to the topics that give the best % for using TPA flavorings. Too much will ruin your recipe. Always start low and work up. That is why you should make 5ml-10ml test batches, only using pg/vg and not your precious nic solution. :)

There ARE a few grocery store flavorings you can use, that Watkins makes, but you have to read the labels carefully. there are a few that are just PG based w/alcohol (all water soluble). I would steer clear of the oils, and ones with additives and dyes.

I am new to this so I don't want to seem rude. Why wouldn't you vape with them just for my knowledge

Not Being Rude. And you Can't get an Answer unless you ask.

Because I don't Know exactly what is in those Bottles. And I Do Know that there are Added Colorants. And a Very good Chance there is Sugar and HFCS in them.

When you buy a TFA Flavoring, you are Buying the Chemical Flavoring mixed in PG. That is about it. No Fillers to make Measuring with a Teaspoon Easier. No Extra Colorants. And No Sugars to Gum Up you Atomizer.

Those Two Bottles of Flavorings you have May Be Fine. Or they May Not. I Dunno?

So I would Stick to DIY Flavorings found on Sites where e-Liquid DIY supplies are Sold.

    Yes.

Look at the first two ingredients: water followed by alcohol. It's mostly "not flavoring." The flavor concentration is too low for vaping, Beyond that flavorings made for eating usually contain stuff you don't want to vape - like high concentrations of sweeteners or the wrong sweeteners that will crud up a coil in a matter of minutes. Any made with oil are plain unhealthy to vape.

There are reasons why some companies make a line of flavorings for cooking and a different line for vaping. McCormick would not be one of those companies.
