Fairly new user, looking to switch models.

Hello everybody,

Although I am new to posting, I have read many threads on this forum and have learned a lot about e cigs in the past few weeks and I thank you for that.

I originally bought a Cig2o from a local smoke shop a few weeks ago. It is a KR808D-1. I heard some nasty things about e-juice made in China and PG juice as well, so I decided to buy some American made smoke juice from Johnson's Creek and some empty cartos from some discount place and eventually from Bloog (someone told me they made quality cartos).

I love the tast of the smoke juice I bought from Johnson's creek, at least on the first fill-up. But when I refill the carto, it doesn't take long for the vape to start tasting burnt. I switched to Bloog because I was told that it was because I bought cheap cartos, but that hasn't helped.

My friend has a Vapor King - not the one made by V4L, one that has no cartomizer and you drip the juice into a tank - and I put some of the JC juice in there several times and it never tastes burnt and actually tastes much more potent. I was thinking about just ordering a Vapor King, but I wanted to run it by people who know what they are talking about before spending more money.

Does anyone know what my problem is with the burnt taste? Any suggestions? And does anyone know what model the Vapor King is? Or have another model that is similar to it?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Usually a burnt taste is an indication that you have not filled the carto enough, or you are vaping faster than the carto filler can wick the juice to the filament. Make sure when you fill (or refill) that the carto filler is slushy (if you can see it), and give it some time to absorb and disperse in the filler. Others with Vapor King experience may chime in.

Did you buy VG juice? VG does not work well in cartomizers. It's too thick. Three main things will ruin a cartomizers reusability

1 - juices that are too thick
2 - juices that drop flavoring sediment in the stuffing (typically dark or cloudy juices)
3 - singeing the carto (which happens more easily with thick juices because they move too slowly to keep the coil area damp)

You could try thinning your juices with up to 10% distilled water

First try thinning some of the juice in a separate bottle (using PG, or a PG juice, or distilled water) and see how that works in the cartomizer. (the Bloog cartos since their stuffing is a bit looser and more absorbent)

If you have a MANUAL KR808D-1 you can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer (or other standard resistance atomizer using an adapter) and drip tip. Dripping is not recommended for auto batteries so you would have to use cartridges on the atomizer.

If you buy a mod, some people claim they can use 100% VG in dual coil cartos (these are extreme LR cartos - not for slim batteries) but even they will say it limits the reuse of the carto.

BTW - cloudy or dark juices that drop flavoring sediment will also gunk up atomizer coils.

I use nothing but C-E2 type clear cartomizers, also I vape nothing less than 50/50 blend PG/VG. Lately, I've been using 100% VG, cut with about 25 to 33% PGA to thin it back for better wicking. I'm strictly DIY, and now, 0Nic, 0FA, (Zero Nic, Zero Flavor Added). Since GotVapes got the Vision, and all later iterations, that's all I use on my ProVari. JMHO

Cheers,
