I've bought a total of 5 Aerotanks off of Ebay for $17 in the last few months and have never even bothered to check the codes. The boxes all appear 100% including the security check, although I know that doesn't really say much, but most importantly, everything is as it should be and in perfect working order! So because of that, I've never really felt a need to check. I suppose I could but what makes me a confident Ebay buyer is that if you have a problem with them or suspect something, contact the seller and open up a case in the Resolution Center if need be. I've had to do it more times then I've cared to and a total of twice on dealing with vaping supplies. I had a seller try to sell me fake Kanger T3's that didn't even have the Kanger logo on them. Of course as soon as I contacted him he claimed to have JUST discovered the same, uh.....ya OK! I was offered a full refund plus shipping, and unfortunately decided to go ahead and try them out, as I didn't have anything else to use at the time. BIG MISTAKE! I tried two and they leak like a sieve! Lesson learned! Evidently the other buyers didn't notice or care, as he had sold quite a bit before I came along and had all good feedback!
However back to the issue at hand, if you're having issues with them and the security measures don't check out, open up a case. No one here is going to be able to verify for you if it's real or not, but I'm going to say chances are, unless you bought them for $10, it's probably just fine. Who knows though....Hope it works out for you, and I'll check one of my boxes and let you know.
