Hey forum, any help would be appreciated. I had a mech mod coming in the mail so I orderd the batteries in the mean time. I orderd two Sony vtc4's off a very reputable guy on eBay named "juice monkey". Very high good feedback etc but I just think I should ask with the vets.

Are these real? They're identical, and seem very high quality. There's no indentation ring at the top like on the Samsung 25Rs or anything, and although the camera is bad, the top cap is shiny, not rough. No stretched serial or anything. But the price just had me feeling skeptic.

Here's the eBay link:

Again, thanks for any help. This is just a clarification post until I can test with scales and make a drain graph with my multimeter.

Kind Regards.

They look just like my VTC4's Joe_Vapor. OTOH, I wouldn't trust any supplier for vape batteries whose reputation I didn't know.

If you want a UK supplier, check out Torchy The Battery Boy. He has a presence on UKVapers and I believe also sells through Ebay. Has a very good reputation there for quality and service. That battery list on the first page is old. If I were going to buy from him I would ask for a newer list.

My personal list of known good battery suppliers includes:

Illumination Supply
Liionwholesale.com
Imrbatteries.com

You can get VTC4 from Illumn for $6 USD each, which is about 4 GBP. Don't know what their shipping to the UK would be but it is very reasonable to Canada.

Thanks for the reply, sounds good so far then :p
But you're right, it's an independent seller and I haven't heard much about him outside eBay. I'l have to make a drain graph of them, and that will be the final decider hehe

You can improve your chances of getting an authentic battery by not using Ebay or Amazon. If you are in the UK, myepack.co.uk is a highly reputable supplier.
I totally agree, but, I found some great sites for batteries, but they were either US only or the postage was crazy. So I just looked around for a slightly more reputable source for them on ebay.

You are incorrect, Sony are manufacturing VTC4 and 5. There was a halt in production because of the Fukushima accident.
Nono, hes right. They don't produce them ANYMORE. You're right in staying that they stopped. But its true, they arn't produced anymore, so its hard to find new ones now, but there are still thousands out there so.

Sony energy devices does still manufacture/produce/ship vtc3, 4 & 5 batteries.

The second week of last month my trucks hauled 4 container loads from a port that missed their railroad connection due to a shipping delay, 100% authentic shipping manifests direct from SED, container sealed by shipper, seal remained intact until final destination.
We have 3 waiting for pickup at another port going to the same end user.

Y'all should stop repeating interweb rumors.

Fair enough, I was just aware that they've moved onto new stuff now, and the batteries have been made legacy stuff now.

Sony doesnt produce these batteries anymore I would consider almost all to be fake unless its old stock.

Best battery right now is the LG HG2, brown wrapper. 30A 3000mah.

Sony's right hand doesn't know what it's left is doing. Sony Energy is still producing the VTC line.

The HG2 is really good but it's a 20A battery and can't sustain more than a short pulse at 30A before starting to over heat. The Samsung 30Q is very similar performace wise but is only spech'd to 15A.
