My Christmas present to myself finally arrived after crossing the Atlantic in a rowboat, and I have had, at long last, time to build her. The mod and atty are convertible from 510 to true hybrid; the mod by removing the top cap and the atty by removing the 510 adapter. She's intended for vertical coils and Genny-type stainless mesh wicks, but I've never done those before and I wanted to get some vape going, so her first build is horseshoe wicked rayon. The build is 28ga Kanthal, 10/9+ wraps-- the legs are 90 degrees apart-- on a 2mm mandrel for .95 ohms.
With a battery installed, there's about a .7mm gap between the tube top and the atty base. I think I am going to have to grind the positive screw off about a mm to shorten it up.
All things considered, I am very pleased. She's a sweet piece of gear and vapes lie a dream. She's got a locking ring for the button, but doggone if I can figure out why. The button is recessed and it isn't needed.
