.......Any luck with a setup without NR wire?

No experience but I did notice these a while back. 2.4 ohm so you'd need vv. $1.86 Replacement Atomizer Core Heating Wire for Electronic Cigarette (3-Pack) 3-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I took a hard look at this recently and finally decided against it for me, but it does get good reviews. $35.22 Ithaka Adjustable Rebuildable Atomizer (4.0mL) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Have you looked at the dream 804's. Vape wise they're on par with the kayfuns and russian. They have their quirks though so be sure to check through some of the posts on them. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...lone-aka-dream-bt804-tank-23.html#post9379819

Good luck and keep us posted on what you get. :vapor:

You seem to be saying this in every thread about Fasttech Oddies, and it contradicts what most folks on Fasttech are saying about them. Are you speaking from personal experience?
Avoid the Tobeco Oddy clone, search my posts and you'll see I have had very little good to say about them also.
The Tobeco Ithaka clone(FastTech) is a different story though, it is just fine.

I meant personal experience with a Fasttech Oddy, not personal experience with a Tobeco product. It's quite clear that Tobeco Oddy is terrible, but I have found no reason to believe that Fasttech Oddy is actually made by Tobeco.

One and the same
Go here: http://www.fasttech.com/products/1400200
And look at the picture of the box, it says "together best cooperation" (Tobeco)

Spend the extra $20 and go for Fasttech's Ithaka. There are people that have gotten the Oddy clone from FT up and working, but from what Ive read it is very, very finnicky. If you are really good with RBAs, or like an RBA that needs a lot of tinkering to get working, then by all means get the Oddy.

As far as no resistance wire, I went through the same thing when I bought my Ithaka clone from Silica Wicks. The rationale for using it, is because the positive and negative posts with these kinds of RBAs is so far from the coil. If you think about the amount of resistance wire you would have to use to both build the actual coil and then connect it to the posts, you would get a lot of resistance and a lot of heat and shorts. You will need it to rebuild coils on any Odysseus, Ithaka, Diver, or their clones. It really isn't that big of a deal to connect NR wire to resistance wire. I just watched PBusardo rebuild the GG Odysseus and he shows how to do it. Beyond that, there are also other videos that show how to do it.

There are some vendors that have been selling resistance wire with NR leads, meaning that you don't even have to connect them if you are feeling uneasy about it. I know Stormy's Vapor Cellar sells 'ready wire' like this. Avid Vaper sells coils already made with NR leads, but does not sell the actual wire by itself.

The popular NR wire materials are .999 silver wire or nickel wire. You can pick up the .999 silver wire (that is a similar gauge to your resistance wire) from some craft stores as jewelry beading wire. I just got mine off of ebay.

Go here: $16.59 Oddy Clear Tank Rebuildable Atomizer - 1.8

That is not a decisive argument. The box of Hcigar's Oddy says the very same thing:
- Shenzhen Hcigar Technology Co., Ltd.
Therefore, the box alone does not give us enough information to declare that this is a Tobeco version.

In any case, this discussion has now become irrelevant: Jazzi Mike has already confirmed that the Fasttech Oddy is finicky and therefore less than preferable.

That's a tobeco too buddy. The top piece that holds down the O ring is round just like my tobeco, and from what I can recall, there's about only two companies making the oddy clone, and the one that comes from tobeco has a round cap for the O ring. To clarify, I'm not saying tobeco makes bad products, it's just that tobeco made a bad oddy clone.

Don't listen to the haters. I just recieved this, used the standard wick and coil, swapped a couple of o-rings like most suggest, cleaned, filled and vaping! This thing is good! If I stand (and vape) this thing next to a genuine Protank which ain't much cheaper, the value becomes crystal clear. No leaks, no gurgles, just thick, tasty, clean vapour.

Just pulled the trigger on an Ithaka on the strength of this.

Be sure to post again when it starts dumping juice everywhere.

This. And if it doesn't leak after a while, please post anyway. There appears to be a regrettable lack of data on the subject of making the FT Oddy work; any information about the success or failure of your attempt will be welcome.

The Fasttech Ithaka clone is well "cloned", every piece of it will interchange with the GG Ithaka and the Rainbow Hercules.
But for folks that were familiar with the GG Ody the Tobeco clone was a big disappointment, quire the opposite of Rainbow's Terminator.
I guess for $16 it isn't bad but it's no Oddy clone, only similiar as only the ceramic and it's housing will interchange with Oddy or Terminator/Nautilus

I have ordered my oddy clone from fasttech and have no issues with it.
The coil it came with in it and the extra both do NOT have NR wire which makes the coil high res the one in the oddy was reading 2.8 on my Provari. hits fine fires fine no issues just needed to soak it and clean it alot before using it tasted and smelt like polish at first. But all i all not a terrible buy for the $17.

It should have "ready wires", folks reported that the Fasttech Ithaka clone didn't have NR but they do, it's pretty hard to see the splices but they were there. You should of had a much higher ohm reading than 2.8 without it.
