Chi-You clone vs Nemesis Clone

Experiences? Thoughts? Heartburn?

Not hoping for before x-mas, can wait. just want to go the right way if I'mma dabble in mechs. Probably going to get a pair of orbtronic "ultra high drain" 22 amp hybrid 18650's and an Xtar VP1 charger. A decent rda (I've successfully built coils for my AGA t2, vision eternity, and rebuilt vivi nova heads) and I should be all set.

However, being that the mech body is the single most expensive link in the chain (except the charger, but I'll use the charger even if mechanicals turn out to be not for me) I am really hoping to get it right the first time.

The Chi-you clone is reported to have a much better (lesser) voltage drop, but there's also some scattered noises about the button / inconsistency. The nemesis clone has a really good overall rep, but its either stainless body (don't want) or silver plated contacts (which might not actually be silver, as they make the voltage drop pretty bad by comparison).

The Chi-you clone says on their website it's a 25mm body - which means none of the rda's sit flush with the top, for than nice hybrid look - whereas the Nemesis clone is 22mm... While this is strictly a tertiary concern, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't there at all,

Issue I have with nemy clone. Bottom button is wonky if you don't push from the center. The top caps 510 connection doesn't accept all 510 threads. Either my atties have crappy 510 connection (they work on everything else I own 6 devices) or it is the top cap. The did replace the top cap for me. It is better, but not perfect. Some still bobblehead in it.

I do like it though with the atties that work. I do wish the symbol and other engraving were not there.

I don't measure voltage drop and it really wouldn't affect me either. You can read the FT forums on the clone.

The chi you clone I do not have. 1 clone mech is enough for me. I wasn't impressed enough to purchase the original or another clone. For me it isn't any different than an apv.

I have some .999 fine silver, and the tools, equipment, and skill necessary to fabricate small parts from it (don't have enough for a full mod, but I can melt, cast, tap, etc). Would it be helpful to replace the "contacts" like the center pin with solid silver?
only if your going to send me a set as well lol.

with silver being the best material for conductivity i think they would kick serious ...., but in reality with a good mod it wont help very much. in most cases the brass nemesis had a .01 drop on some tests.

so it would be a case of if you feel like it, as my friend says your splitting hairs, and i say once you split enough of them there's a pile on the floor isnt there.

The only reason I'm still humming and hawing is that the "Silver plated contacts" on the nemesis clone tested out to be such a down step from the brass contacts (without silver plating). I can't remember off hand, but for the "clones" and not the "real deal" the drop was something like .03 for the brass w/brass contacts, and something like 0.19 with the "silver plated contacts". I was a bit surprised by this, but one of the posts on the Cali thread conjected that maybe it was nickel? That would actually make sense, as "nickel silver plated" in english might just work out to "silver" for a chinese factory product developer who might have little care as to why american buyers may prefer "silver".

I LOVE that quote!

In all seriousness, I tend to geek out a little when I get involved in a new sphere of interest. I'm chasing flavor more than anything, but truth be told, TH and vapor aren't fully satisfying me either. I dropped down from 18 to 12 mg juice, and am OK, but just a hair unsatisfied. I don't run into "cravings" like I did trying to quit stinkies with other methods, rather, I just find myself very often vaguely dissatisfied.

I could jump back up in nic, but I don't think that's it.

I've been at 12 mg for three months or so now, and am considering ordering a mix of 12 and 6 mg to mix for my next step. However, I'm hoping to up the production when I step down the nic, helping to make the transition smoother.

Also, the fire button on my Vamo is getting more and more finicky. It's going to die at some point, and I'd like to be ready when it does. I gave all of my previous twist scale vape gear to my brother in law to help him off the stinkies, so I am without backup.

It's pretty rare in my lifestyle that I'd have this much capital to drop on an upgrade, and don't want to spend the money without being relatively comfortable that the odds are in my favor to not end up regretting it.

I think some people get absolutely .... over v-drop. Most are running unregulated sub ohm anyway and within a few good pulls the battery is starting to drop. Unless I'm wrong delivery is going with it.
For the avg. Joe the Nemesis is a no brainer and if you ARE ...., there are simple fixed to maximize the efficiency of your under $30 copy of an authentic Mod that also has some v-drop.:)

Nemesis(Clone) SS/Brass - beautiful
